My fingers dimple over cold dark
ridges
of words encased in stone
that sit at your head as you sweetly
slumber
and your soul resides at Home.
Blood-red roses live at your feet
the way I did at one time
They are so blest, to guard your
rest.
I wish such a peace was mine.
Brown dirt is your blanket, soft
grass is your quilt
to shelter from sun and rain.
Once you laughed with me in
sunshine so bright
but only that radiance remains.
Oh, such sunshine never has been
as was the glory of my glad heart
that was driven away on your
resting day
when we were severed apart.
If I must wait forever and forever
again —
I will wait forever for you.
that’s how I felt and how I feel now,
Is that what I should do?
When a life is gone and the groom
turns to dust
where marches the innocent bride?
Your name should be mine, we ran
out of time
and here all those hopes reside.
I clench one fair flower close to my
breast
As tight as we held to each other.
My grasp couldn’t hold, and now
you’ve grown cold
as you traveled on to Another.
I smell the dank air and look at cold
stone
As I sit on your quilt of green grass.
I sit here and trace and tears trail
down my face
and I wait for forever to pass.

To get the free version!
1.Go to Grammarly using the Chrome web browser.
Firefox and Internet Explorer take you in an endless loop. They do not seem to give you the
option for the free account.
You can also search “Free Grammarly” in a search engine to get to the right page.
If you go to the page that has you paste in text, sometimes it will take you in the “sign up”
loop. Make sure it talks about the free account on the page BEFORE you sign up.
2. Make sure you are clicking on the button that says “Sign for
Grammarly, It’s free.”
If you start signing up, and it doesn’t say it’s free, you’ll have to use another email. I don’t
know how to get it to let you sign up for the free version once you start signing up the other
way.
3. When it asks, install the Grammarly Chrome add-in.

Blood-red roses live at your feet the way I did at one time They are so blest, to guard your rest. I wish such a peace was mine. Brown dirt is your blanket, soft grass is your quilt to shelter from sun and rain. Once you laughed with me in sunshine so bright but only that radiance remains. Oh, such sunshine never has been as was the glory of my glad heart that was driven away on your resting day when we were severed apart. If I must wait forever and forever again — I will wait forever for you. that’s how I felt and how I feel now, Is that what I should do? When a life is gone and the groom turns to dust where marches the innocent bride? Your name should be mine, we ran out of time and here all those hopes reside. I clench one fair flower close to my breast As tight as we held to each other. My grasp couldn’t hold, and now you’ve grown cold as you traveled on to Another. I smell the dank air and look at cold stone As I sit on your quilt of green grass. I sit here and trace and tears trail down my face and I wait for forever to pass.

  • 99. H O W T O G E T G R A M M A R L Y F R E E To get the free version! 1.Go to Grammarly using the Chrome web browser. Firefox and Internet Explorer take you in an endless loop. They do not seem to give you the option for the free account. You can also search “Free Grammarly” in a search engine to get to the right page. If you go to the page that has you paste in text, sometimes it will take you in the “sign up” loop. Make sure it talks about the free account on the page BEFORE you sign up. 2. Make sure you are clicking on the button that says “Sign for Grammarly, It’s free.” If you start signing up, and it doesn’t say it’s free, you’ll have to use another email. I don’t know how to get it to let you sign up for the free version once you start signing up the other way. 3. When it asks, install the Grammarly Chrome add-in. Proofing Tools

Editor's Notes

  • #10: Today, I’m pointing you at some awesome tools and telling you what they DO, I’m not necessarily getting into the nuts and bolts of how they work. There are lots of great YouTube tutorials and these tools often get makeovers.
  • #11: 3 guys building #1 I’m laying bricks down #2 I’m building a big brick wall 100 feet tall and 200 feet wide and by the way – guy #2, you have to redo it b/c the second row is out of order
  • #12: #3 Don’t you want to ask me what I’m building. I’m building a cathedral – and by the way, the second row doesn’t matter b/c it is an inside wall and it will be painted over. Don’t get obsessed with perfection on the individual tools – keep sign of the big picture – the cathedral
  • #16: Tell story of Diigo and Wiki conflicting.
  • #21: But the dog ate my jump drive
  • #22: Tell story of Diigo and Wiki conflicting.
  • #29: Tell story of Diigo and Wiki conflicting.
  • #44: Tell story of Diigo and Wiki conflicting.
  • #45: Hover speech — you can highlight and it will read there - it starts reading wherever you have your mouse. Reads it to you — text on a page.
  • #46: Dictionary looks up the word for you.
  • #47: And you can see a picture of the item you’re reading about - some students learn better with drawings and pictures.
  • #48: Can also translate into the language of your choice. (Will show in a moment how to change language.)
  • #49: This is cool. Want to send an audio file of some text you’ve typed or found on the web. Highlight and hit a button and you have an mp3 file. Teach kids how to do this and put them on their phones.
  • #50: OK, so you have text in pictures and need it read! This is cool. Screenshot reader lets you draw a square around the picture and will read you everything in the image! Very cool.
  • #51: Now, I have worked with dyslexics and we know how guided reading strips help them focus on the text better. You have a guided reading script built into Read and Write for Google that will let you focus on just what you’re reading - called screenmask.
  • #52: Now, you can highlight words and phrases, but here is what is cool.
  • #53: Doing research — highlighting the words - can click collect highlights.
  • #54: Collect colors - certain colors or all of them.
  • #55: Then, pulls research into a doc w/ location.
  • #56: but can also take highlighted words and click “vocabulary list and it makes word, definition, picture and notes and you have a cute handout!
  • #57: Now, dyslexics need help focusing as we saw with Screenmask - here’s a tip - click simplify, then do screenmask on top and you’ve got a much simplified page.
  • #58: This is a quick read aloud sent to teacher. Works via email. However if you want to do more with read alouds, I have another tool I’ll recommend later for that. This is just for quick things (or even questions for your students who struggle with writing and typing.)
  • #59: Can change language, reading speed, etc.
  • #60: You can also just turn on the features you want on the bar or turn them off.
  • #86: Remember to use tab to indent and shift tab to go backwards whether it is word, Powerpoint, or whatever tool you use.
  • #95: Speech input links up to Google Voice Typing - but this is what is different, you can use this button on the web or in forms or if your lMS like mine - Powerschool Learning has a box to type in, they can use this button to type directly into that box too. Very cool.
  • #114: If they are weak on writing, they are likely weak on reading as well. Use Voice commenting.
