FT. LAUDERDALE, FL — June 6, 2005 — A group of long term employees of Service America Network Inc., purchased the Ft. Lauderdale-based company that has been providing repair, maintenance, and replacement services for major appliances, heating/cooling systems, plumbing, and electric throughout Florida for over 30 years. The purchase became official May 5, 2005. The newly named Service America Enterprise Inc., better known as Service America, will be employee-owned and locally operated. Chris Heaney is the new president and chief executive officer. His personality resonates throughout the company. ‘This was a real good move for the company” states Roxanne Hardy, customer service floor supervisor, “Chris is a very charismatic, people person. He is always here to listen to what our customers wants and needs are and he’s always here for the employees.” “This is an exciting opportunity for all of our employees and our customers who will directly benefit from a company that focuses on our Florida customer base and will give back more to the local communities,” reiterated Mr. Heaney Service America’s senior management team and its business plan will remain largely unchanged. “We have a lot of good people here, some have been with us over 30 years, that care about what we do and the services provided to our customers,” said Heaney. Kim Williams, customer service manager, feels that “our leadership that we have to go private is very strong and dedicated”. She also expands on the company culture, “we have more of a family feeling to the company – like what we had 10,15,20 years ago as Amira.” Service America will look to concentrate on further expanding its Florida customer base, but not lose sight that service to current and potential customers is key.
