Bataan Death March
 
Bataan Death March 60 mile forcible transfer of 75,000 American and Filipino POW’s to a POW camp was characterized by physical abuse and murder 6,000 and 11,000 men died(perhaps closer to 20,000) Due to this(and other cases) Japanese offials faced war crimes trials after the war On May 30, 2009, the Japanese ambassador to the United States officially apologized on behalf of the Japanese government
 
 
Navajo Code Talkers' Dictionary
 
 
The code talkers received no recognition until the declassification of the operation in 1968 In 1982, the code talkers were given a Certificate of Recognition by U.S. President Ronald Reagan, who also named August 14, 1982 "Navajo Code Talkers Day" On December 21, 2000 the U.S. Congress passed, and President Bill Clinton signed a law which awarded the Congressional Gold Medal to twenty-nine World War II Navajo code talkers.  In July 2001, U.S. President George W. Bush personally presented the Medal to four surviving code talkers. Gold medals were presented to the families of the 24 code talkers no longer living. [
Doolittle’s Raid

Battle of Coral Sea The Battle of the Coral Sea was fought from May 4-8, 1942 It was a major naval battle between the Japanese Navy and Allied naval and air forces from the United States and Australia The battle was the first action in which aircraft carriers engaged each other  It was also the first naval battle in history in which neither side's ships saw or fired directly upon the other  While Japan sank more ships than the Allies did, it was a strategic victory for the Allies as it was the first time we stopped the Japanese from advanceing

Battle of Midway Widely regarded as the most important naval battle against Japan  Fought between June 4-7, 1942  The Japanese aimed to eliminate the United States as a strategic power in the Pacific and believed a victory at Midway Island would do just that United States Navy decisively defeated the Japanese Navy attack against Midway Island  Japan’s Navy suffered heavy losses and never recovered from this battle Magic played a vital role in the Allied victory
