- 1. You and I Film synopsis You and I is about 2 girls who run away from their hometown after one girl murders a man. They have to travel through the woods to make it to their safe haven so they don’t get captured and possibly killed by a boy who swore revenge on the person they have murdered. The filmwill mostly be told in flashbacks and the perspective will swich from the protagonist to the antagonist at the half way mark. The film will explore themes of letting go of the past and themes of revenge, obsession and corruption. Logline You and I tells the story and I girl called Mel, Mel needs to take another girl called Ellie and herself through the woods to another town to prevent them from being captured and possibly killed after she murdered a man in self-defence. Screenplay structure Act 1: Mel and Ellie are on the run as they try and make to their safe haven while unaware that they are being followed by Isaac. The flashback will be use to show what they were doing before they murdered Jesse. Act 2: Isaac follows Mel and Ellie through the woods while trying to find the perfect time to attack them. Act 3: Mel and Ellie confront Isaac and Isaac kills Mel and lets Ellie go. Elie makes it to her safe haven in another town where she can spend the rest of her life with no worries. Characters Mel is a teenage girl who is determined to make sure that Ellie has a much better life then she does now. After killing Isaac’s best friend Jesse, she does everything in her power to protect her and Ellie. Ellie is bullied by Jesse and is seen as this week and powerless teenager. As the story goes on, she becomes for defensive towards herself and begins to feel more confident. Isaac is a self-obsessed teenage boy. As his best friend Jesse is murdered by Mel. He becomes more and more obsessed with revenge and becomes this murderous maniac. Jesse is just like Isaac. He is also self-obsessed teenage boy. He bullies Ellie so much that Mel ends trying to interline and then she accidently kills Jesse. Film treatment
- 2. You and I opens with Mel and Ellie already walking through the woods. Then there a flashback on why they are walking through the woods. In the flashback, Mel has already murdered Jesse and he was bullying Ellie and the realise that they need to run away because they know that might be people who may want revenge. As they take a break from walking, the talk about their personal problem and why they run away from them. As their break finishes, they continue through the woods. As they are walking, Mel is tackled by a man. That man is called Isaac. After that, the film cuts to black and the filmgoes back to the start but in Isaac’s perspective. Isaac is walking through the woods trying to find Mel and Ellie. Then there’s another flashback where Isaac sees jesses dead body and then he looks outside to see Mel and Ellie running into the woods. Isaac stalks Mel and Ellie in the tree and then tackles Mel and then kills her, Ellie and Isaac stare at each other and then Isaac turns around and walks away from Ellie. Ellie takes one last look at Mel’s body and continues walking through the woods. Ellie eventually makes it to the other town and sits by a tree and stares into the sky. Target audience/USP The target audience for my film is mainly for 15-18-year olds because the film will deal with many teenage problems such as mental health and letting go of the past. My unique for my film is the fact that my film will tell the story in the protagonist and antagonists’ perspectives to make the audience think about who is really the villain in this story.
