Time passing by
100 years passing
A long shot of a town square with a fountain,
having the people rushing around in old clothes,
traveling on old transport, old looking stalls, as
time quickly flashes the clothes keep changing,
horses change to cars, stalls become super
markets, the cobbles on the road turn to tar and
the pavements crack and are replaced. and all
that remains of the old days is the fountain in the
town square.
4 Shots
The town square is quiet, birds eye view, not much
movement, the fountain has orange leafs in it,
the next shot is a long shot, the square has a huge
decorated tree over it, lots of people rushing by. Snow
is falling
Next shot is a close shot of people hiding under
shelter from rain, threes have blossoms growing on
them.
The next shot is a ending shot the trees are full of
green, lots of people walking around, in flowing bright
clothes. The fountain water glows and the shot fades
away on the founten water.
3 other ways of showing a
       passing year
Text – text stating one year has passed “one year
 Later”

Showing a child go from been a baby, when the
camera fades away we see the child as a toddler,
 the mother is less tired.

Native- Has the main character narrate ho the
year that passed was, saying what happened,
how things have improved or gotten worse.
24 hours passing
A over head shot showing the full room. A boy is
sat watching TV and everyone is moving around
him, mother vacuuming, dad having a go at the
lazy boy, brother fighting each other, family
having dinner, lights turning on, lights turning off,
family going upstairs, mother returning into living
room, mother opens curtains, mother leaves for
work with the dad, brother go to school, mother
comes back home.
A dream
To make it clear the scene would be introduced
by a wavy transition, and non-diegetic harp
music.

Then the dream scene would have a white cloud
like border around it, and the characters voices
would echo.
Flash back
A bright Flash would happen, showing the flash
back in a tilted color. The flash would also have a
non-diegetic noise to accompany it that sounds
like “vim-rump”

How does the person providing the
  voiceover alter our viewpoint or
response to the events of the film?
It gives the audience a different perspective.
They usually inform us of the story, make the
narrative understandable and clarifies points in
the film. Therefore they help the audience stay
informed, and assist them in understanding a
character or plot point.
Typical narrative structure.

                                                 ring growing evil.
Films that do not follow this
         structure
Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds - The film starts off with peace,
then suddenly the birds start attacking, and we get the disruption
to the plot, however the film then takes a interesting turn, as the
ending has no resolution to the disruption, the birds are still
(unexplained) still attacking, the characters drive away but we
never know weather or not they survive.
