LIBRARY USER POLICY CVCC student ID cards will be used as library cards. The maximum number of books that a student may check out is ten. The loan period is for four weeks and books may be renewed once. The overdue fine is twenty cents per day per book with maximum fine of twenty-five dollars per book. Overdue fines can be paid at library’s Information Center.  Students will be placed on hold if they have overdue books and/or fines. The on-hold students are not able to register for new semester, obtain transcripts, or graduate.
PRINT/COPY ON CAMPUS CVCC student ID cards can be used as print/copy cards.  Print/copy cards may be purchased at one dollar per card. The print/copy cards are reloadable. Pay-stations for purchasing and reloading print/copy cards are located in the LRC and the Wilson Hall. The release key (password) required for printing is any number(s) and letter(s) or combination of both up to fourteen characters. All copies are ten cents per page.

REFERENCE SERVICE On-site reference service:  library staff is available at the Information Center to answer your questions. Email reference service:  email your questions to  [email_address] Online reference service:  the service is available during library operational hours and can be accessed at our  blog .
INTERLIBRARY LOAN SERVICE Interlibrary loan (ILL) service is a cooperative effort among libraries to share resources. Through ILL, we are able to borrow materials that are not owned by our library.  CVCC faculty, staff, and students are eligible for ILL service. You may obtain ILL request forms from the library’s Information Center or submit the requests online through the library  blog . Delivery time varies depending upon the availability of the materials and the location of the lending institution. Loan period for ILL books is determined by the lending library. There is no charge to students for ILL service.
TEXTBOOK ON RESERVE Library has textbooks on reserve for most of the courses that CVCC offers.  Textbooks are for in-library use only.  Valid picture ID is required to use reserved textbooks.

DELICIOUS-SOCIAL BOOKMARKING Delicious is a social bookmarking web service for storing, sharing, and discovering web bookmarks. Library bookmark collection is available at  http://www.delicious.com/cvcclrc
E-BOOKS AT NETLIBRARY The library e-book collection can be accessed at  netlibrary.com   No user ID or password required when accessing the e-book collection on campus. Remote access is available by registering for a free account at  netlibrary.com  by using any computer on campus.
ONLINE DATABASES Alabama Virtual Library (AVL) is primarily a group of online databases that have magazine, journal, and newspaper articles on various subjects.  The AVL can be accessed at  http://www.avl.lib.al.us No user ID or password required to access the AVL in Alabama. Out of state access is available by obtaining a user ID and password from: Public or school/college library if you are an Alabama resident or registered in Alabama school/college School/college library if you are not an Alabama resident, but registered in Alabama school

  • #3: There are four parts in the presentation. Part 1: library arrangement; part 2: library information; part 3: library services; part 4 Library resources.
  • #9: Part 3: library services. In this part, we will introduce you the services we provide to our patrons. They are circulation service, reference service, interlibrary loan service, and course reserve service.
  • #10: Reference services. We provide three different types of reference services to our patrons. First is the very traditional reference service: on-site reference service. The professional library staff will be available at the information center to answer your questions regarding to the use of the library resources and services. The second type of reference service is telephone reference service. You may call the library for quick and ready reference questions. The quick and ready reference questions are the questions that can be answered in a short time without consulting many reference materials.

Webcat is accessible from any computers with the Internet connection. The collections can be found from the webcat are fiction books, non-fiction books, reference books, and audio-visual materials. The collections that not available through the Webcat are genealogy collection and periodicals.
