NOW IMPORTING DATA TO EXCEL FOR REPORTING

I also have powerpivot installed on my computer for running Business Analytics and
Reports.

click on the DATA tab to create a connection for importing data into EXCEL.

Connect to the SQLSERVER instance where the database coffe shop resides.

Choose the appropriate database (coffee shop)

Choose enable selection of multiple tables

This will import the data to the excel sheets, we need to rename the sheets to their appropriate
names.

Right click and then rename all the sheets

Rename the sheets and save them to be sure .

PowerPivot is now also included in Excel 2013 – the new “Data Model” features of pivots in 2013 are really just
PowerPivot, and the remaining functionality of the PowerPivot addin can be enabled with a single checkbox
(under Addins).

Even though I agree 100%, that’s not my description. That comes from Mr. Excel himself, Bill Jelen. He’s said
this a number of places, but here he says it on the MrExcel.com forums.

click on manage , This will open the powerpivot window
This is the power pivot , wooho! this thing is one stop shop for ANALYSIS AND REPORTING SERVICES

This will let us create multidimensional cubes for running analysis and reporting services. Cutting
IT cost to extreme amount . Creating a multi dimensional cube in analysis services is pretty tough and
advanced skill . Power pivot lets us bypass all that and helps us create fact and dimensions tables in the
excel sheet.

check the figure below to see me create dimension and facts table and relate them multidimensionally.

I clicked on the diagram view to see my fact table salesinfo and location and beans type as
dimension tables.

self service BI at our service ready to go now we run the reports and sqlserver 2014 lets us save this as
dimensional cube in its analysis service .

I just ran a report on profits and sales of all the states the coffe chain has outlets open. pretty awesome
