TITLE: Finite Element Solid (Hexa) Modeling & Modal Analysis of Crankshaft, Connecting Rod,
Drive Shaft.
Description:
1. The input was in IGES format.
2. Focus was to capture features like Pockets, Keyways, Steps and maintain good mesh flow.
3. Solid Meshing using Hexa and Penta Element.
4. 3D Quality checks to meshed component are conducted as per client specifications.
5. Assigning the material and preparation of Optistruct deck.
6. Modal analysis has been carried out to find out the mode shapes at different frequencies.
Tools used: Hypermesh v12.0, Optistruct and Hyperview
PROJECT 2:
TITLE: Morphing of BIW, Plastics & Solid Automotive Components
Description:
1. The input was in fem format.
2. Morphing technique (Changes in the Model at the Meshed level) carried out using either Free
Form Morphing or Control Card morphing.
3. Assigning the material and preparation of Optistruct deck.
4. Modal analysis has been carried out to find out the mode shapes at different frequencies.
5. Comparing the frequencies of Base model & Morphed model and Studying Behavior of both.
Tools used: Meshworks v7.0, Optistruct and Hyperview
PROJECT 3:
TITLE: Boundary Element Meshing of BIW, Plastics & Solid Automotive Components.
Description:
1. The input Base Model was in fem format.
2. Boundary Element Meshing is carried out to base model to generate approximate model.
3. Assigning the material and preparation of Solver deck.
4. NVH Analysis has been carried out to find out the mode shapes at different frequencies.

4. Modal analysis has been carried out to find out the mode shapes at different frequencies.
Tools used: Hypermesh v12.0, Optistruct and Hyperview

Closure etc.
Description:

TITLE: MESH GENERATION FOR BUMPER.
Description:
1. Input format was IGES file.
2. User profile was LS-Dyna.
3. The bumper is made of plastic material. Our focus was on good mesh flow and achieving quality
as per the client requirement.
Tool used: HyperMesh v12.0
Role: Creating mesh, quality checking, assigning thickness.

Title: MESH GENERATION FOR CROSS CAR BEAM COMPONENTS.
Description:
1. Input was in IGES format.
2. Geometric clean up was done. Here the part is sheet metal.
3. The main intension here was to maintain good flow within customer specified quality parameters.
4. Material and Component properties were assigned as per input.
Tool used: HyperMesh v12.0
Role: Creating mesh and quality checks as per the requirement.
ACADEMIC PROJECT (M.Tech)
Title: “Design Optimization of Industrial Washing Machine for Cleaning of Crankcase”
Description: This project aims at developing a cost-effective Industrial washing machine (cleaning
machine) by optimizing the tank design to avoid the problem of mixing of clean and dirty water and by
optimizing the Drive shaft for better strength and durability of the structure, which would cater to the
needs of the automotive sector market.
The important features are to be focused are:-
• Effective method of optimizing the tank to avoid mixing problem.
• Effective method of filtration to achieve component cleaning quality
• Effective method of filtration to protect hydro cyclone filter damage from burrs and chips.
• Effective method of optimizing the drive shaft for the strength and durability.
• Cost Effectiveness.
Tool used: Auto Cadd 2012, UGNX 8.5, Hypermesh V12, Ansys Workbench V14.5.
