BiocSol was invited with its chairman Pierre Ferrand for a meeting at Christophe Hansen Eu commissaire for food and Agriculture cabinet at EU Agriculture and Food at the Berlaymont. We had a constructive discussion with the European authorities to share the range of challenges that startups face when preparing a European application. The authorities seemed fully aware of the issues and stated that they would continue internal discussions in the near future to make progress on this complex matter.

All BiocSol team would like to extend our sincere thanks to UCLouvain - Université catholique de Louvain for putting the spotlight on its spin-offs and BiocSol during the recent evening dedicated to innovation, organized as part of the university’s 600th anniversary celebrations. 🙏 It was an honour to be included among more than 90 innovative companies born from UCLouvain’s research, and to share the stage with so many inspiring entrepreneurs and researchers. 💡 The event at Aula Magna was a strong reminder of the vital role that academic spin-offs play in translating research excellence into real-world impact. As highlighted by Rector Françoise Smets the creation of a spin-off embodies the university’s threefold mission: - research excellence 🏆 - multidisciplinary team formation 🤝 - and direct contribution to societal well-being 🌍 We are proud to be part of this dynamic community, which collectively generates significant economic and social value for the Walloon region and Belgium. 🇧🇪 We would also like to thank Pierre-François Lovens and La Libre for their recent article, which sheds light on the challenges of creating a spin-off in Wallonia and the evolving landscape for academic entrepreneurship. Excited to announce that BiocSol secured €5.2M in seed funding to transform sustainable crop protection! 🌱💪   Our next-generation microbial-based solutions, developed from a decade of research at UCLouvain - Université catholique de Louvain, offer cutting-edge plant protection products featuring higher stability and field efficacy to fight against mildew agents affecting major crops like potatoes, vegetables, and grapes.   Key highlights: 1. Targeting €10M in total funding by year-end through non-dilutive and equity 2. Field-tested success against late blight and early blight in potatoes and downy mildew 3.
