Tariffs, trade deals, and global uncertainty, just some of the things startups like moonbird are navigating behind the scenes. This week, we were featured in De Tijd, sharing how international tariffs are impacting small, growing companies like ours. Since launching, the US has been our only non-European market. It’s an exciting and curious one, home to people who are eager to explore new wellness tools like moonbird. But with changing tariff policies, it’s becoming harder for European businesses to plan ahead. As our co-founder Michael put it: “10, 15, 30% tariffs, just make up your mind. Then we can move forward.” That uncertainty means we need to stay flexible and pragmatic. We’ve already started setting up parallel production in Asia, making sure we’re ready for whatever comes next. Because the world is big enough, and so are the opportunities to grow. Whether it’s the US, Europe, or somewhere entirely new, we’ll keep building simple, science-backed tools that help you breathe better.. wherever you are. 🌍💙 📰 Read the full article (Dutch): https://lnkd.in/enY6xepn #moonbird #startuplife #globalbusiness #breathwork #mentalhealth #biotech #tariffs #export #innovation

We love reading thoughtful reviews, but this one really stood out 💙 Huge thanks to Carleigh Ferrante, Senior Commerce Editor at mindbodygreen.com, for sharing her experience with moonbird, and how just a few minutes of breathwork a day led to real, measurable changes in her well-being. Using moonbird combined with her ŌURA ring, Carleigh saw noticeable improvements in her HRV, sleep scores, and stress levels, and she highlighted something we care deeply about: the ability to track your progress through data. As she put it: “That night, my Oura gave me a 94 sleep score and my HRV went up 11 points. I test (and love!) a lot of sleep aids, but I hadn’t seen a jump like this in a long time.” At moonbird, we’re building tools that make breathwork simple, intuitive, and backed by real-time biofeedback and science. We love seeing the difference moonbird makes in your daily lives, and how seamlessly it fits into your existing health routines. Thanks again, Carleigh, for the kind words and powerful insights! 📖 Read the full article: https://lnkd.in/eNTBETUK #breathwork #HRV #sleepquality #digitalhealth #wearables #moonbird #nervoussystem #oura #biometrics #resiliencetraining

Excited to share that our latest research is now published in the International Journal of Clinical and Health Psychology! The aim? To understand how the way breathing is guided—through vibration vs. physical expansion/contraction—impacts stress levels and user experience. What we found: 👉 moonbird’s expanding and contracting motion not only felt more intuitive to users, it also triggered stronger EEG markers of relaxation: ↑ delta power (deep rest), ↓ alpha power (reduced mental alertness) 👉 Both devices improved heart rate variability during use, showing clear signs of physiological stress reduction. 👉 But: 79% of participants preferred moonbird overall—rising to 94% when they tried it after Core. 👉 Users rated moonbird significantly higher in terms of ease of use, comfort, and breathing guidance quality. Takeaway: the way we deliver breathing guidance matters, both in terms of user preference and its impact. This study underscores the importance of user-centered, embodied feedback, like the physical rhythm of expansion and contraction, in designing tools that feel good and work better. More research is ongoing and will be published soon. 🔗 Full paper: https://lnkd.in/eZ7N2pKj Elisabeth Honinx Steven Laureys MD PhD Michiel Meys Leen Van Langenhoven Isabelle Huys Olivia Gosseries Charlotte Martial

Every breath you take… …apparently reflects the unique way your nervous system, brain, and respiratory system work together, creating patterns as individual as your personality. Researchers at the Weizmann Institute discovered that the way we breathe through our nose is so distinctive it can identify us more accurately than voice recognition. They call it our “breathprint.” But here's the twist: These breath patterns don’t just say who we are; they reveal how we are. They offer a glimpse into our levels of anxiety and depression, behavioral tendencies, even our body mass index and arousal states. In other words, your breath holds the blueprint of your inner world. We're just scratching the surface of what breath can tell us about identity, health, and the mind-body connection. It’s not just air we’re moving; it’s data, story, signal. 🔬 Original study in Current Biology: https://lnkd.in/d4ecM3KS #science #breathwork #mentalhealth #biometrics #nervoussystem #moonbird

🎧 Tune in to Not Alone with Stefanie Broes and Valeria Lipovetsky! We're excited to share that moonbird’s co-founder, Stefanie Broes, joins Valeria Lipovetsky on her podcast Not Alone to talk about something we all need more of: calm. As a co-founder and new mom, Stefanie opens up about how her personal struggle with insomnia during her PhD led to a deeper exploration of the breath. She shares how that experience sparked the idea behind moonbird, our tactile, science-backed tool that helps people manage stress, sleep better, and breathe more intentionally. In this episode of Not Alone, Valeria Lipovetsky and Stefanie talk about: • the link between breath, stress, and the nervous system • what HRV really says about your body • how breathwork compares to meditation • why moonbird is designed to be felt, not just seen or heard • how breath helps kids (and adults) regulate emotions 👉 Listen here on Spotify: https://lnkd.in/enX-2vxr 👉 Watch here on YouTube: https://lnkd.in/euVZ6gr3 #moonbird #breathwork #sleep #stress #nervoussystem #HRV #founderstory #podcast

At moonbird, we don’t just build products—we also focus on creating a fun, ambitious company culture where everyone is encouraged to challenge themselves, grow together, and make an impact. That's why, some time ago, we created our company values, which shape how we work and collaborate: 🌙 To the moon… and back – We aim high, pushing boundaries to achieve big, bold goals (becoming the category leader in wellness tools for breathwork? Yes!). 🪺 Leave the nest, learn to fly – We step out of our comfort zones, try new tools and approaches, embracing new challenges (implementing AI tools at full speed? Yes!). 🪽 Fly in formation – We collaborate as one team, supporting each other every step of the way (our CEO stepping in to help out customers when the CS inbox is exploding? Yes!). 💪 Fly high, dive deep (into the mud) – We take a step back to analyze, strategize, and set the course (fly high), then roll up our sleeves and dive deep into the operational work, executing without hesitation (dive deep). 👀 Never fly blind – We make data-driven decisions, combining intuition with facts (weekly deep dives into our numbers? Yes!). Curious to know, what are your company values?
