  • If you use #HubSpot, you can now ask it questions in plain English through #ChatGPT. Instead of building reports or waiting for your team to pull data, you can simply ask: "Which deals are at risk this month?" or "What contacts need follow-up?" and get immediate answers. This is OpenAI's first CRM integration, and it could change how your team accesses customer insights. But there are practical considerations every organization should understand before rolling this out. Does your customer data get used to train AI models? What happens if you have team members in Europe? Can external consultants enable this without your knowledge? Our latest article covers what you need to know to make an informed decision—including when this integration makes sense for your organization and when it doesn't. Are you considering AI integrations for your CRM? What's your biggest concern? Read the full analysis below ⬇️

  • Last week at the Volcano Theatre Conservatory, our CEO, Rose Genele spoke with theatre artists about the parallels between AI’s performance of care and the craft of live performance. Rose Genele examined how: -Sycophancy keeps machines agreeable, even when disagreement is needed. -Anthropomorphism leads us to assign intention and emotion where none exists. -Poor design ethics can allow performance to replace presence without the user’s awareness. In theatre, the audience consents to the illusion. The boundaries between performance and reality are clear. With AI, there is no such contract. When a system “listens” and responds in a way that feels empathic, we can begin to forget that there is no actor behind the mask. At The Opening Door, we believe that human-centred AI is not about making systems seem more human, but about making them more accountable to humans. That means transparency, contextual appropriateness, and an honest acknowledgment of limitations. We thank Volcano Theatre Conservatory for convening this important dialogue and for bringing artists and technologists into the same room to ask hard questions. The one we will keep asking is this: Are AI systems designed to perform human traits like empathy, care, and intelligence-- ethical or deceptive? #AIEthics #ResponsibleInnovation

Collaborating with AI ethicists has taught me a lot about responsible technology. Even so, I've always believed that everyone should be involved with #AIethics and #responsibleAI at any workplace integrating new tools into workflows. If you're equally passionate about #AIsafety, this presentation by Rose Genele may be of interest to you. Big thanks to Genele—CEO of The Opening Door—for your guidance on how to build accountable teams in the age of #machinelearning and to Toronto Machine Learning Summit (TMLS) for sharing the recording of this insightful event. #LLMs #GenAI #AIstandards #AIpolicy #WoW #newtech #digitalworkforce #computationallinguistics #futureofwork https://lnkd.in/g5bRKWFV

  • AI is racing ahead. But who’s making sure it doesn’t leave humans behind? During Toronto Tech Week, we brought together leaders, builders, and thinkers to explore what responsible AI actually looks like—and why it’s non-negotiable as frontier labs and nations race to build artificial superintelligence. Here’s the truth: 🚀 Generative AI capabilities are scaling faster than most organizations can adapt. 🤖 Headlines focus on the tech, but the real conversation is about trust, ethics, and human agency. 🌍 We’re at an inflection point: this is our chance to shape a future where human values guide technological progress—not the other way around. At Human-Centred AI x The Future, we explored: ✨ The 5 pillars of human-centred AI ✨ How ‘responsible’ translates into daily decisions under pressure ✨ Using AI to determine what’s real in an age of synthetic media ✨ How design, development, and governance of AI can align with human values This isn’t theoretical-- this is about ensuring the future of human-machine interaction remains collaborative. Thank you to our partners Toronto Tech Week and Thinkingbox, and to everyone who showed up ready to build a responsible AI future together. 🚨 We’re exploring turning this into an ongoing series. If you want to join the next conversation on responsible, human-centred AI, visit our recap blog, and sign up for updates. https://lnkd.in/gF8GcEFu Let’s keep building the future—intentionally, responsibly, and together. #HumanCentredAI #ResponsibleAI #TorontoTechWeek

Had an amazing time at The Opening Door's first IRL event last week during TTW! 🚀 Huge thanks to Rose Genele for the invitation to demo our client cases and share some real-world insights from our startup journey with audiences and prospects! The energy and vibe in the room was incredible—loved hearing insights from Julia C., Chris MacDonald, Alyssa Belova and Sanaz Mazinani. Some thoughts I gathered from TTW and the startup journey we've been on so far: 1️⃣ Agentic AI penetration into niche verticals (especially SMB to mid-market) is not as strong as we think. Real estate zoning analysis, professor-student email CRM, project context switching tasks and more... there's still SO much room for more targeted agentic automation in these specific workflows. 2️⃣ The better moat for most startups is relationship building in B2B. I found that spending more time connecting with professionals and decision makers involved in niche workflows is the key to building more targeted products and faster to commercialization. 3️⃣ Don't over-engineer everything - Traditional CRUD is still the backbone of most business tech. You don't need LLM everywhere when good old DB query will do the job accurately with less time and energy needed. 4️⃣ Context > Prompts - Success with AI agents nowadays comes down way more to having the right data context, connector configuration, and proper task breakdown than crafting the perfect prompt or fine-tuning the models. 5️⃣ The barrier to achieving outstanding results with vibe coding and debugging is actually a lot higher than most people think. Deep technical know-how is always required to debug and guide its direction along the way to build your project. Thanks again to Thinkingbox for making this happen. Love seeing Toronto's AI community coming together like this! #TTW #TODHCAI2025 #AI #Startups #TorontoTech

What does it really mean to build responsible AI? 🤔 Last night I had the pleasure of attending another Toronto Tech Week event: Human-Centred AI × The Future: Insight, Foresight & Solutions, hosted by The Opening Door—a responsible AI integration agency founded by Rose Genele. AI conversations are everywhere. But this one felt different. From artists to professors to angel investors, the discussion centred around real, lived experiences with AI and how we might build technology that supports—not replaces—human flourishing. We explored: 👉 How to future-proof AI by centring values and wellbeing 👉The role of participatory design in reflecting real user needs and diverse communities 👉 The risks when humans are no longer the decision-makers, and how teaching AI the wrong thing will only reinforce what it learns 👉 And the reality that bias isn’t just technical—it’s systemic. At whose expense is this technology being built? One question stuck with me: How do we teach AI the values of humanity? There was also honest reflection on the darker impacts of AI—such as how it’s affecting higher education and the challenges professors face as they try to adapt and respond. The Open Door’s vision is to build a future where innovation, strategy, and ethics are inseparable. Congratulations to Rose Genele and the team on your exciting announcements—so inspiring to see your vision come to life. And thank you for creating space for conversations that truly matter.
