Today marks a big step forward for open EV charging ⚡ This announcement will reshape how our industry builds together When we founded Pionix, our conviction was simple: The EV charging ecosystem needs openness, community, and standards if we want to move beyond fragmentation and accelerate mass adoption. That belief led us to initiate EVerest Project by LF Energy in 2020 — and since then, we’ve seen a vibrant open-source community grow around it, implementing protocols like OCPP, ISO 15118, and more. Over the past months, we’ve been listening closely to our community, partners, and customers. The message we heard was clear: 👉 Keep it open. Keep it simple. Keep extending EVerest. So today, we are announcing two important steps forward: 🔹 We donate major parts of BaseCamp into EVerest We are contributing significant parts of BaseCamp, our commercial-grade charger operating system, into the main open-source EVerest project — including a comprehensive integration manual, a broad range of hardware drivers, a new API layer, and testing modules. By donating these building blocks, we strengthen the open-source foundation of EVerest. Developers and manufacturers will gain broader hardware compatibility, richer documentation, and easier APIs — enabling faster, more reliable, and more collaborative development. 🔹 We support your product development with custom engineering services At the same time, demand from charger manufacturers and system integrators for expert implementation support has never been higher. That’s why we’re refining how we help: with custom engineering services that provide integration support, tailored development, and guidance — so you can move faster, reduce risk, and bring charging solutions to market sooner. What this means: - For developers & manufacturers: free access to BaseCamp’s most valuable components — directly integrated into EVerest. - For operators & integrators: a stronger, field-proven stack with extended driver support and simplified APIs. - For the industry as a whole: a unified vision that accelerates innovation and strengthens the open-source ecosystem. 👉 You can find more details in our new blog post — link in the comments. For us at Pionix, this is more than a strategy update. It’s our way of doubling down on openness, collaboration, and community. By contributing key parts of BaseCamp into EVerest, and by supporting companies with custom engineering, we’re helping to remove barriers and shape the future of EV charging. Let’s keep building the future of open EV charging — together.

More than technology 🤝 ⚡ Why collaboration drives EV charging forward — meet us at ICNC25 From September 2–4, 2025, the EV charging industry will gather at Berlin Tempelhof for the intercharge network conference 2025. And of course, Pionix will be part of it. Because driving mass EV adoption requires more than just advanced technology — it takes collaboration, open standards, and strong partnerships. At ICNC25, you’ll find our team exchanging ideas, exploring new solutions, and connecting with peers across the ecosystem. Whether you’re a charger manufacturer, CPO, or e-mobility innovator — let us have a talk about how we can shape better charging experiences together. 📍 Let’s connect in Berlin. Reach out to us before the event or stop by during the conference — we’re looking forward to inspiring conversations and new connections.

When strong partners meet, great things happen ⚡ 💪 Turning shared vision into real impact — from controller to customer experience Recently, we had the pleasure of welcoming Dennis Hering and Mario Phytec Haas from our long-standing partner PHYTEC to the Pionix HQ. We believe that true innovation in e-mobility doesn't happen in silos — it happens through collaboration. That’s exactly what defines our partnership with PHYTEC: turning complexity into progress and making real impact for charger manufacturers and end users alike. 🔌 At the heart of this partnership: The phyVERSO®‑EVCS — a smart, modular EV charger controller powered by Pionix BaseCamp, our operating system based on the open-source technology of the EVerest Project.   Together, we offer a flexible, future-proof solution that supports today’s most important charging standards — from OCPP and ISO 15118 to Plug and Charge and beyond. 🧠 And we didn’t stop there. Together with additional partners, we co-developed the EVCS-Cube: an evaluation platform that makes it easier than ever to kick-start and test new EV charging solutions — AC or DC. Built around phyVERSO®‑EVCS and equipped with BaseCamp, which builds on the EVerest open-source technology, it enables development teams to plug in, power up, and innovate without starting from scratch. This is what partnership looks like: Open collaboration. Shared standards. Real progress. We’re proud to work with PHYTEC Messtechnik GmbH — and excited to keep building the future of EV charging, together. ------------- So tell us — are you still developing your charger software from scratch, or are you already skipping the basics to focus on what truly sets your solution apart?

Growth eats culture for breakfast ⚡ 🥐 — but only if you forget that culture is the real driver behind innovation. At first glance, Pionix might seem like it's all about technology. Almost true — but not quite. Because innovation doesn’t start with code. It starts with culture. As a remote-first company, we’ve learned that: 💡 You don’t build great teams by bringing people back into offices. But you also don’t build deep trust without face-to-face connection. That’s why we regularly organize on-site gatherings, hackathons, and company-wide co-working weeks — to create shared moments that go beyond the screen. Yes, it takes effort to plan these days at our HQ close to Heidelberg, Mannheim, and Karlsruhe (south Germany). But every time, the result is worth it. We hear it again and again from our team: These moments matter. Because they remain special. One of our most recent meetups brought together our Go-to-Market team — including new faces, meeting for the first time in person. Working sessions, breakout discussions, coffee chats, lunch conversations... And in the evening? A laid-back bowling night where it felt less like work and more like friendship. Even our CEO Marco Möller joined to knock down a few pins — and yes, he did quite well 😉 We’re already looking forward to the next round. Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about building software and making EV charging easier for manufacturer, CPOs and end users. It’s about building the kind of company people want to be part of. ----- But let's come back to our headline: 👉 What does your company do to nurture culture and create an environment where people feel good — and talent can grow?

We’re thrilled to welcome Marco Möller, Co-Founder & Managing Director at Pionix, to V2G Leaders Europe. Why listen? Marco’s team originated EVerest—the Linux Foundation Energy open-source firmware stack that already speaks ISO 15118-20, OCPP 2.x and Modbus, so any charger, EV or home battery can plug, charge and discharge out-of-the-box. Leading EVerest’s Technical Steering Committee and beeing a newly elected board member of the Open Charge Alliance, he’s turning open code into the de-facto interoperability layer for V2G across Europe and beyond. On 20 Nov in Brussels Marco will share: How EVerest is enabling bidirectional charging on off-the-shelf hardware in under 15 minutes. Roadmap 2025 – smart-charging algorithms, secure Plug-&-Charge and grid-service APIs baked into the stack.  Call for collaborators – how OEMs, CPOs and DSOs can cut integration time by 50 % by contributing tests & drivers. 📅 20 Nov 2025 📍 Area 42, Brussels 🔗 Full agenda and tickets in comments.
