Present continuous
- 2. z PRESENTE CONTINUO – PRESENT CONTINUOUS SE UTILIZA: Para hablar de acciones que ocurren al mismo tiempo que se habla, o situaciones que suceden alrededor del momento en que se habla. SIRVE: 1. Este tiempo verbal se utiliza par hablar de situaciones que están ocurriendo en el momento en que se habla (I.e. It's raining at the moment) 2. También usamos el presente continuo para hablar de cosas que suceden alrededor del momento en que se habla (I.e. I'm studying English in an English Academy) 3. Planes de futuro (I.e. I'm playing tennis this afternoon).
- 3. z PRESENTE CONTINUO – PRESENT CONTINUOUS ¿CÓMO SE FORMA? Se forma con el verbo 'to be' acompañado de un gerundio. Cuando hablamos de un gerundio hacemos referencia a los verbos terminados en "_ing", es decir, del verbo 'to eat' en gerundio sería 'eating'.
- 4. z PRESENTE CONTINUO – PRESENT CONTINUOUS AFIRMATIVA: Para formar la afirmativa ponemos la forma correspondiente del verbo 'to be' acompañado del gerundio. Ellas están hablando ahora. They're talking now. Él está trabajando en este momento. He's working at the moment. * Debemos tener en cuenta las formas del verbo 'to be’ correspondientes, así como las formas contraídas.
- 5. z PRESENTE CONTINUO – PRESENT CONTINUOUS NEGATIVA: Para formar la negativa negamos el verbo 'to be''. Ellas no están hablando ahora. They aren't talking now. Él no está trabajando en este momento. He isn't working at the moment. * Al igual que en afirmativa, podemos encontrar la forma completa (am not, is not, are not) o la forma contraída ('m not, isn't, aren't)
- 6. z PRESENTE CONTINUO – PRESENT CONTINUOUS INTERROGATIVA: Para formar la interrogativa tenemos que invertir el verbo 'to be' y el sujeto. ¿Están ellas hablando ahora? Are they talking now? ¿Está él trabajando en este momento? Is he working at the moment?
- 7. z PRESENTE CONTINUO – PRESENT CONTINUOUS RESPUESTAS CORTAS: Para dar respuestas cortas debemos utilizar la forma correspondiente del verbo 'to be'. Recuerda que las respuestas cortas son muy comunes porque cuando hablamos evitamos repetir lo que ya se ha dicho. Are they talking now? Yes, they are / No, they aren't Is he working at the moment? Yes, he is / No, he isn't * Debes tener en cuenta que utilizamos la forma completa en las respuestas cortas afirmativas, mientras que utilizamos la forma contraída en las respuestas cortas negativas.
- 8. z PRESENTE CONTINUO – PRESENT CONTINUOUS Debemos tener en cuenta que cuando añadimos '_ing' debemos seguir ciertas reglas de ortografía. 1. A la mayoría de los verbos se le añade normalmente. I.e. work - working 2. Quitamos la 'e' y añadimos 'ing' a los verbos que terminan en 'e'. I.e. write - writing 3. Doblamos la consonante final en las palabras cortas que terminen en cononante + vocal + consonante. I.e. swim - swimming 4. Cuando los verbos terminan en 'y' siempre añadimos 'ing' (tanto si van precedidos de vocal como de consonante) I.e. try - trying buy - buying
