7 months into our DEFRA funded Innovate UK project on Nutrient Management, things are starting to happen: · Year 1 crop trials on greenhouse grown tomatoes are getting going at Stockbridge Technology Centre and pot trials of mustard and wheat in growth cabinets will soon be starting at the Royal Agricultural University · The design of the demonstration plant to go onto site at Anglian Water next year is rapidly approaching the 90% level, with long lead time items already ordered Plans between now and the end of the year are to complete the Year 1 crop trials comparing NTPlus nutrients to an optimised hydroponic solution. This will also involve using pot trials to simulate field trials under normal and drought conditions, comparing NTPlus as variable rate vs conventional fertiliser application. We’ll also be building the demonstration plant, with Agua DB bringing years of experience into making the simplest ion exchange plant in the world and Varicon Aqua adding the necessary membrane pre-filtration stages to make nutrient recovery from wastewater a reality. Watch this space as we’ll be posting updates more regularly from now on… NTPlus – a new affordable and sustainable way of recycling nutrients and water! #ionexchange #membranes #nutrientrecovery #circulareconomy #innovateuk Varicon Aqua Royal Agricultural University Plasma Fresh Ltd Anglian Water Services Thames Water OMEX UK Agri-Tech Centre
