Throughout April, colleagues across Kajima Partnerships Limited, Kajima Properties Europe and Kajima Community participated in a Step Challenge, an initiative to get moving and raise funds for great causes. Our team met the challenge goals, unlocking £6,000 in donations to three incredible charities, chosen by our staff: 👉 The Brain Tumour Charity 👉 Dementia UK 👉 Parkinson's UK Each organisation will receive £2,000, supporting their vital work. This milestone at our Moss Farm solar development marks another step closer in Kajima’s target to develop + 3.5GW of renewable energy projects, across Poland and the UK, over the next five years.
Our renewables JV with Low Carbon Alliance, Taiyo Power & Storage, has received planning permission for a 9MWp extension to the Moss Farm solar project in Sefton, Merseyside. Partly located on a former landfill the project exemplifies the sustainable repurposing of land with limited alternative uses. Enhancements such as hedgerow and meadow grassland planting will result in a biodiversity net gain of 133.85% for the site, which is planned to power over 6,000 homes. Great news from our Renewables team, who have secured the sale of our second solar project in South Wales, to Infinis. The project, part of Taiyo, our UK renewables joint venture with Low Carbon Alliance, is at the Ready-to-Build stage and expected to power up to 22,000 homes once fully operational. Well done to the team involved!

Progress is moving swiftly at 16 Berners Street, one of our premier office redevelopment projects. We're currently in the temporary propping and demolition phase: 🚧 Temporary propping is being installed to enable demolition safely. 🏗️Demolition is well underway, with 16 Berners Street now substantially cleared in preparation for the installation of the tower crane, scheduled for June. 🏆 A special shoutout to our contractor Curo Construction ltd, who achieved a top score of 45/45 in the Considerate Contractors audit! This remarkable achievement is rare, a huge congratulations to the Curo team for their dedication and excellence. The refurbishment will expand the building from 28,600 sq ft to 35,000 sq ft of best-in-class office space featuring outdoor terraces.
