Lead times to provision new infrastructure was causing the Energy Savings Trust (EST) issues in deploying new projects on time.EST were also looking to lead the way in efficient computing by adopting new technologies that minimised their carbon foot print. I worked alongside Assimil8, an Arrow IBM BI/BA software partner, to design a solution that met EST’s requirements whist being capable of running a demanding multiuser Cognos environment. I implemented a cloud computing solution on the IBM…

I worked alongside Assimil8, an Arrow IBM BI/BA software partner, to design a solution that met EST’s requirements whist being capable of running a demanding multiuser Cognos environment. I implemented a cloud computing solution on the IBM public cloud to provide a compute platform for the project. I lead infrastructure design for the POC and UAT helping Assimil8 and EST benchmark the solution. The solution went live in December 2011 provisioning the whole infrastructure of 23 servers in just 3 days also crediting Arrow ECS UK with the first production cloud customer in Europe through the channel.
