A strategic vision  in collaboration with Downtown Dayton Partnership, brought to life through a visual and verbal identity that invites all creators, fun seekers, collaborators, innovators and game changers to come to downtown Dayton, Ohio to “Do Your Thing.” If you know anything about Dayton, you know it’s the birthplace of flight. Though a monumental, historic achievement, the city needed a story that spoke to more of its relevance, as well as its future. Placemaking is one of the most underrated tools in a city, organization, or business’s toolkit. Part of the reason could be that it is often one of the more overtly visual, yet largely misunderstood, devices we have to use. Placemaking is about much more than paint on walls. And when utilized effectively, placemaking can build new narratives, foster renewed excitement, and drive the investment that leads to larger, monumental change. But it all starts with understanding the bigger picture. Zip's Cafe is a Cincinnati staple, and home to the best burgers in town (yeah, we said it). A testament to their good taste is that this year marks their 100th anniversary. We were thrilled to help them bring the celebration to life by creating a commemorative mark and campaign for the milestone. To capture the history and flavor we brought the restaurant facade to life with a look that’s elegant, nostalgic and fun, just like the restaurant experience itself. After that, we slapped the mark on everything we could for people to wear proudly with plenty of merch, swag, pint glasses and even a beer brewed with MadTree Brewing Company. “These students that come out of informatics are going to have the skills to understand how to pivot and how to communicate.” A quick snippet from our conversation with Abby Ober, Director of Informatics Outreach at Northern Kentucky University and team. We’re excited to help this group better define and amplify their story for their 20th anniversary and beyond. So much of the brand and messaging around college these days is about athletics, the consequences of which only directly affect a small percentage of the student population. But higher education overall is facing major disruption beyond the playing field. Get people to join the cause! As a new organization, Bipolar Action Network had to hit the ground running fast. They needed help boosting membership from hospital networks to the platform and generating funding to power the network to better care. In addition to humanizing this complex condition (as you may have seen in our previous post), we also needed to tell a story about what the network would be capable of with the help of contributing members and funding.
