We were proud to have Dr. Kate Caldwell represent CRDJ at this year’s United Nations High-Level Political Forum Collaborative on Citizen Data event. Her presentation emphasized the importance of using intersectional methods to ensure that disability data reflects the full complexity of people’s lives. This work is central to our mission at CRDJ: advancing disability data justice, centering marginalized voices, and challenging the structures that too often erase disabled people of color from research and policy. We look forward to continuing to build a field where both quantitative and qualitative approaches honor the lived realities of disabled communities.
At this year’s United Nations High-Level Political Forum, we brought together national statistical offices, civil society organizations, and global experts for a full-day workshop on strengthening citizen data for more inclusive and responsive data systems. The workshop featured four sessions: ▪️ The Copenhagen Framework and its implementation ▪️ Gender and citizen data for transformative action ▪️Intersectional and disability data ▪️Integration of citizen data with official sources Hosted by the Collaborative on Citizen Data with United Nations Statistics Division, UN Women, Open Data Watch, PARIS21, World Bank Development Economics, United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), and others, the event offered practical tools, frameworks, and country examples. 📖 Explore the full presentations: https://lnkd.in/ebAnf53s 🎥 Watch the full recording: https://lnkd.in/e2YqEtvc #CitizenData #HLPF2025 #InclusiveData #Data4SDGs #CopenhagenFramework
