Yesterday, Amy Miller, SHRM-SCP, Senior Manager of CVP’s Workforce Ready Solutions Hub, presented at the 2025 MiPeers Conference alongside Nicki Gabel, Program Manager for the Michigan Recovery Friendly Workplace Initiative at MPHI. Their session, "Recovery and Employment: Creating Inclusive Workplaces for Jobseekers in Recovery," focused on the critical intersection of recovery, employment, and inclusive workplace culture. Amy shared real-world, person-centered strategies developed through CVP’s work on a statewide initiative funded by the Michigan State Opioid Response (SOR) grant. This initiative is focused on driving system-level change in workforce development and improving employment outcomes for individuals in recovery. These strategies are helping jobseekers move from preparation to placement and long-term retention. We're honored to support efforts that strengthen recovery ecosystems and help build workplaces that are inclusive, supportive, and recovery-ready. Thank you to MiPeers for hosting this important conference and creating space to advance collaboration and innovation. #MIPEERS2025 #SORGrant #RecoveryFriendlyWorkplace #CVPImpact #WorkforceReady #SystemChange #RecoverySupport #InclusiveWorkplaces #PublicHealth #MichiganWorkforce National Association of State Alcohol and Drug Agency Directors (NASADAD) Office of National Drug Control Policy Michigan Department of Health & Human Services

Did you know a critical SharePoint vulnerability is being actively exploited by China-backed hackers to steal sensitive government data? ⚠️ A newly identified vulnerability chain in on-premise SharePoint servers allows nation-state threat actors to bypass authentication and execute remote code without detection. ⚠️ Attackers chain two critical vulnerabilities (CVE-2025-53770 and CVE-2025-53771) to steal machine keys and gain full server control ⚠️ China-aligned groups Linen Typhoon and Violet Typhoon are targeting government servers for espionage ⚠️ The attack can compromise entire SharePoint environments through lateral movement after initial access Ways to protect yourself and your organization: ✅ Apply Microsoft's security patch immediately to all on-premise SharePoint servers ✅ Rotate machine cryptographic keys before AND after applying the patch ✅ Deploy EDR solutions on SharePoint servers to detect webshell activity ✅ Monitor for suspicious PowerShell processes spawning within w3sp.exe Read the full report @ https://lnkd.in/eQJ_pruw Joshua Berg Jeffrey Scarborough Tamara Miller, PMP #CTAR #Cybersecurity #ThreatIntel #SharePoint #ZeroDay #APT #ChinaHackers #NationStateThreats #WebShells #RemoteCodeExecution #DataExfiltration #CVP

Recovery from substance use disorder (SUD) is more than just a clinical process. It requires a holistic transformation with employment as a cornerstone. Beyond providing income, employment brings purpose, structure, identity, and stability. For many, it’s the turning point in recovery and a practical intervention that reinforces clinical care and supports long-term recovery. At CVP, we believe employment shouldn’t be treated as a final milestone but integrated from day one into the recovery-oriented system of care. Yet, systemic barriers persist, including the lack of payment structures and funding pathways for employment support services, limiting access to services critical to long-term recovery. Today, this work is more urgent than ever. The current climate of rising unemployment and widespread federal reductions in force (RIFs) is leaving thousands of workers without income, identity, or support, conditions that significantly heighten the risk for mental health challenges and substance use. For those already in recovery, job loss can be destabilizing. For others, it can be the beginning of a crisis. A recovery-oriented system of care must be equipped to respond, not just clinically, but with employment and economic support at the forefront. CVP is advancing cross-sector partnerships and redesigning workflows to integrate employment support across the service spectrum. We know system change requires workforce development by equipping recovery staff at all levels with the skills and tools to integrate employment support throughout care. This is not an incremental change. It is a strategic reimagining of how recovery care is delivered, one that centers employment as a driver of long-term health and well-being. Together, we can help more people rebuild their lives through stable employment. In the wake of U.S. military strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities on June 21, pro-Iranian hacktivist groups have ramped up coordinated cyberattacks against U.S. government websites and defense contractors. Among the groups active in these campaigns are Mr. Hamza, Team 313, and Cyber Jihad, which are primarily launching Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks. Some of these groups claim disruptions have lasted as long as 10 hours, targeting U.S. Air Force domains and key players in the aerospace sector. The Department of Homeland Security has issued warnings that “low-level cyber-attacks against U.S. networks by pro-Iranian hacktivists are likely.” How to protect your organization: ✔️ Disconnect critical OT and ICS assets from public internet access whenever possible ✔️ Implement strong authentication controls, including MFA and RBAC for cloud platforms ✔️ Review and update business continuity and incident response plans ✔️ Apply all current security patches to internet-facing systems without delay Cyber threats are adapting. Your defenses should, too. On July 1, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) launched the transformative Increasing Organ Transplant Access (IOTA) Model. At CVP, we’ve heard powerful stories from patients, providers, and stakeholders—tales of crossing state lines and fighting for a chance at life. These patients’ courage fuels our mission. The IOTA Model motivates 103 hospitals to increase kidney transplants through optimized utilization of deceased and living donor organs while improving patient support via seamless coordination. This approach balances transplant success against the cost of inaction. According to the National Kidney Foundation, 13 waitlisted patients die daily—many after being declined viable organ offers—while countless others never reach the waitlist. At CVP, we are committed to advancing innovative approaches to suicide prevention—a mission deeply important to us and essential for the communities we serve. We're harnessing virtual reality (VR) to transform how clinicians recognize, respond to, and manage suicide risk factors. This technology builds on our successful VR training on sexual assault prevention developed for the Department of Veterans Affairs, where trainers reported significantly more effective and immersive learning compared to traditional methods. VR suicide prevention training allows healthcare professionals to practice critical interventions in realistic scenarios, building confidence and competence before working with real patients. This approach is especially vital for non-mental health care professionals; research shows two-thirds of Veterans see a healthcare provider within 30 days of an event, with most encounters occurring outside mental health services (bit.ly/44xQn1J). We remain dedicated to creating innovative solutions that support both providers and those at risk. We believe the combination of technology, evidence-based approaches, and compassion creates pathways to prevention and healing. What innovative suicide prevention approaches have you seen? Share your insights below. Allison M. Bondanza, Ph.D., ABPP Kevin Ripp Blaire Morrison, PMP #SuicidePrevention #VirtualReality #HealthcareInnovation #MentalHealthAwareness #CVP
