Every day at Geronimo Power, our commitment to community shapes how we work. As a U.S. energy producer, we’ve built a foundation of responsibility and safety that reaches from our team to the landowners and communities where our projects operate. We lead by example. Rooted in farming values, we prioritize fairness, transparency, and long-term partnerships. We’re over the green with gratitude for our interns! This afternoon, Brooklynn Holtz and Gabby Smith hosted our interns for an End-of-Summer Celebration at Topgolf. After a week of final presentations highlighting their biggest takeaways and summer projects, it was the perfect send-off — good food, plenty of laughs, and a little friendly competition. We’re proud of this year’s intern class and excited to see all they’ll accomplish next. The Geronimo Power Corporate Retreat is one of our favorite annual traditions. It’s a week to pause, give back, and reconnect with what matters most. Kicking the week off with meaningful volunteer events, Thursday was our designated Family Day. Employees brought their loved ones along for one of five fun-filled outings: Topgolf, the Minnesota Zoo, Bloomington, MN - Home of Nickelodeon Universe, Padelford Riverboats, or Rush Creek Golf Club. The day wrapped up with dinner and games at Punch Bowl Social in St. Louis Park. There’s nothing better than celebrating the people who make Geronimo Power what it is, both at work and at home! #CorporateRetreat #TeamCulture #FamilyDay #EmployeeExperience #GeronimoPower #CompanyTraditions #LifeAtGeronimoPower

Being community-focused isn’t just a value at Geronimo Power. It’s something we put into action every day. It’s about becoming part of the fabric of our communities and making a positive social and economic impact for our neighbors. Recently, some of our employees volunteered with Surly Gives a Damn by Surly Brewing Co. to support their community garden, which helps provide fresh produce to Every Meal and other local food programs. We spread mulch on garden beds and laid woodchips along paths to prevent erosion and retain moisture. These small efforts will have a lasting impact on garden yields and food access across the community. And judging by the smiles, teamwork, and muddy gloves, we'd say it was an afternoon well spent! #CommunityEngagement #VolunteerWork #SurlyGivesADamn #EveryMeal #FoodEquity #Sustainability #EmployeeImpact #CommunityGarden #CorporateResponsibility

Today is National Vanilla Ice Cream Day, Sprinkle Day, and Gorgeous Grandma Day, so naturally, we celebrated early. A couple weeks ago, our employees brought the fun to Saint Therese of Brooklyn Park with a “Christmas in July” celebration, hosting an ice cream social and game day for some of our favorite seniors. Volunteers split into small teams to lead yard games and deliver root beer and Coke floats, Cracker Jack, and popcorn to residents’ rooms. It was a heartwarming afternoon filled with laughter and connection. Some residents even remembered our team from past visits during the holiday season! Bringing joy to our communities is what it’s all about at Geronimo Power. Our CEO, Blake Nixon, recently joined the Scaling Clean podcast to share his journey in clean energy leadership. From being mentored by Geronimo Power’s founder, Noel Rahn, to navigating acquisitions, market shifts, and scaling the company with integrity, Blake offers candid insights on mission-driven growth, team culture, leadership, long-term vision, and what’s next for our industry. If you're curious about what it takes to build a resilient business, this episode is worth a listen! Be sure to tune in today. #GeronimoPower #ScalingClean #CleanEnergyLeadership #Renewables #EnergyTransition #MissionDrivenBusiness
We're out with a new episode of Scaling Clean, and our guest is Blake Nixon, CEO of Geronimo Power. Blake discusses Geronimo’s rebrand and shares the story of his mentor, and company founder, Noel Rahn. I’m always curious to hear how different cleantech companies develop their marketing program. Blake had an interesting take: Melissa: At what point did you hire a full-time marketing person? Blake: “I'd say it was year five. We were probably 12 or 15 people. If you think about what we do, so much of it is building trust. It's not just customers, vendors, or construction partners. It's really communities. That's your initial sale. That's why the first thing you should read when you look up Geronimo Power is we're farmer-founded and we're community focused. Anybody will build you a project, anybody will sell you commodities. Our core nexus – and I believe this is more important today than ever – is at that foundation and in the community. And I think it's the most overlooked part of our industry. It's to the peril of those who overlook it.” I want to underscore the importance of his last point. My Tigercomm colleague, Ayelet Hines, leads our community engagement work that’s focused on helping developers apply a campaign mindset to win permits in rural communities. This task is increasingly difficult with shifting political tides, as well as resentment fueled by social media and anti-renewable interests. A few more standout moments from our conversation: 1️⃣ Be a risk taker. It doesn't get easier to take risks as you grow older. So take them young. 2️⃣ At any point in your career, you can choose how much you want to grow in your role. You can stick to a job description, or you can add your own ideas. You get to decide. 3️⃣ Mistakes come with leading a company. It’s your job to experiment, push limits, and learn what works or doesn’t. Get comfortable with not knowing and needing to ask questions. More than once in this conversation, Blake gave a shout out his PR and marketing team members - kudos to Emily Morissette, MBA, Lindsay Drew Smith, and the team for “flipping the switch” on the rebrand so seamlessly. And thanks to Jennifer Haugen for helping us set up this interview. Thanks, Blake, for sharing your wisdom with the cleantech community. Listen to our conversation at the link in the comments, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Did you know it's National "Be a Good Teammate" Day? As part of this year's Corporate Retreat, a group of Geronimo Power employees spent an afternoon volunteering with Avivo, using #teamwork to help clear debris, mulch gardens, and haul decades-old files for shredding. These efforts helped refresh their headquarters and support a space that feels welcoming and functional for both staff and clients. Avivo serves nearly 10,000 people each year, providing critical support for those navigating addiction, mental health challenges, housing instability, and unemployment. We were proud to lend a hand to an organization doing such important work. #NationalBeaGoodTeammateDay #Avivo #CommunityFocused #CommunityImpact #CorporateVolunteering #GivingBack #Teamwork
