Design that begins and ends with people.
About us
Helix is an integrated architecture and design firm that focuses on people instead of structures. We invigorate culture and transform business through a design process that begins and ends with the people who will live, work, or play in the places we create. In other words, our designs are always created to serve others, not ourselves. That’s why we strive to connect people with space in imaginative, stimulating, and rewarding ways. The way we see it, great architecture and design can transform people. People can transform the world. Our mission is to be a catalyst for that.

This August marks a special milestone for the Barbara Marshall Residence Hall at the Kansas City Art Institute: it has been five years since the building first opened its doors and began shaping the student experience at KCAI. Its location along the "art ribbon" — with The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art on one side and the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art on the other — is a prime spot for KCAI to serve as a cultural connector. The construction of the Wichita Biomedical Campus has been making significant progress in Downtown Wichita. The WBC will combine Wichita State University, WSU Tech, and the University of Kansas in a state-of-the-art facility. The new space will foster interdisciplinary collaboration and improve the future of healthcare for communities in downtown Wichita and surrounding areas. "Sometimes when we learn in our individual silos, we don't put enough emphasis on the team approach — understanding each skill set, what they have and can do for patient care. I think that (the new campus) is going to give us more opportunity to have students working together as a team, because when you get out into the real world, that's what happens," said Lynn Fisher, M.D., Associate Professor in the KU Wichita Department of Family & Community Medicine.
