Since 2001, Major League Baseball has developed the most comprehensive authentication program in professional sports. This program certifies the authenticity of game-used items and autographs like no other – all in the name of safeguarding players, fans, and the National Pastime. Fraud can undermine a company's value and erode consumer confidence, and no industry is immune from its effects. Counterfeit memorabilia is a persistent threat to the integrity of the sports collectibles industry. Earning consumer trust is paramount to strengthening brand loyalty. In this episode of Business of Baseball presented by CohnReznick, viewers get an inside look at how baseball does that with the MLB Authentication Program.

On Friday, July 11th, Major League Baseball hosted the 2025 MLB All-Star Small Business Luncheon presented by Mastercard. This event brought together small businesses from around the All-Star host city, Atlanta, where participants shared information and received business resource tools from our partners at Mastercard. More than 50 businesses entered the MLB & Mastercard Small Business Contest where two finalists, ComfiArt and Sensational Baskets, Inc., pitched its ideas to a panel of four judges. The winner, Dionna Collins, M.A. from ComfiArt, won a $10,000 grant and threw out the first pitch during the 2025 MLB All-Star Game presented by Mastercard for her business pitch at the luncheon. A moment to remember for everyone in the Greater Atlanta region!

Another engaging Baseball Bites session in the books for our summer interns! Beyond their day-to-day internship tasks, we're committed to preparing our summer interns for life after college. This week, we focused on LinkedIn best practices and personal branding tips led by two leaders from MLB's Talent Acquisition team. Our goal is to build their confidence as they navigate networking and the interview process in their search for full-time positions. We love equipping this talented group for future success! #MLBInterns2025 #CareerDevelopment #PersonalBranding #LinkedInTips #MLB
🤝Talent Acquisition at Major League Baseball 🧘Certified Yoga Instructor 🧠 Psychology-Driven Approach to Recruiting and Employer Branding
Ryan Carlon and I had a great time hosting our MLB interns for a LinkedIn & Personal Branding workshop this week! ⚾️ While social media is second nature to their generation, LinkedIn often isn't. Many college graduates are just starting to build their profiles after school, missing out on the chance to develop this crucial tool during their academic years. Our session aimed to change that, showing them how to strengthen their presence now for future interview success and their first job. We shared practical ways to use LinkedIn to cultivate a strong professional brand and tell their evolving career stories. This preparation is key as they continue to grow within our program, readying them for the corporate world ahead. Our interns brought great energy and thoughtful questions, making for a truly engaging session. Equipping the next generation with these skills is something we deeply value at MLB. We're excited to see them shine! ✨ #MLB #MLBTalentAcquisition #MLBInterns2025
