Our youth moved into our VisTAY location two weeks ago, and everyone has been having a blast! From hanging out in our outdoor space to sharing meals together, youth and employees alike have been creating strong and fruitful connections. 💙 P.S. The passionfruit is from our very own garden! 🪴

Ending Youth Homelessness
About us
Founded in 2012, Urban Street Angels is a San Diego native 501(c)3 attentive to supporting homeless youth through supportive housing, peer support, mentorship, mental health counseling, and job training initiatives, in order to develop a more employable workforce and cultivate personal responsibility. We believe building the lives of any young person requires tremendous care and support—therefore it’s through that care and support we plan to rebuild the bonds of trust and individual confidence necessary to help steward our youth toward a life of stability, away from the streets.

Urban Street Angels, Inc. reposted this
“We’re proud to work with Urban Street Angels and the Lucky Duck Foundation to create a place where young people can find stability and pursue their full potential and most importantly avoid homelessness altogether.” We’re grateful for Mayor Franklin’s leadership and support of the VisTAY House, a partnership between Urban Street Angels, Inc. and the Lucky Duck Foundation. Together, we’re creating a safe, stable space where youth can heal, grow, and pursue their full potential – while working to prevent homelessness altogether.

We are so excited and thankful for this opportunity and partnership. 💙
The new VisTAY House will provide 16 beds and uplifting services to help young people ages 18–24 transition from homelessness to self-sufficiency. More than a shelter, it’s a place for healing, stability, and hope. 💛 As Urban Street Angels, Inc. first North County facility, VisTAY fills a major gap in services for unsheltered youth — offering housing, food, basic necessities, wraparound case management, peer support, and career development through their Trade School Program. “We believe in the resilience of youth and seek to provide them safety and hope every day. VisTAY will be a safe-haven first and foremost, and secondarily a launching pad for healing, growth, and independence. It’s a long-term solution, not a temporary fix.” — Eric Lovett-Maerz, Founder & CEO of Urban Street Angels Learn more in this piece from ABC 10News San Diego | KGTV Channel 10: https://lnkd.in/gRtHyAtv

🎉 Have you heard the news??? 🎉 Together with the City of Vista and the Lucky Duck Foundation, we’ve opened VisTAY House—North County’s first transitional housing for youth experiencing homelessness. A huge step forward in filling a critical gap in services for our region! At VisTAY House, youth will find more than a roof over their heads. They’ll receive meals, life skills training, career support, and the encouragement of peers who’ve walked similar paths. Every piece is designed to help them heal, grow, and thrive. #urbanstreetangels #endyouthhomelessness #changinglives #youthempowerment #transitionalhousing #youthprogram #vistacalifornia #sandiego #nonprofit https://lnkd.in/gVGNWS4w

We are unwaveringly grateful for this partnership and so excited for what is to come! Together, we can end youth homelessness. 💙
The Lucky Duck Foundation is pleased to announce our latest collaboration aimed at addressing youth homelessness. In partnership with the City of Vista and Urban Street Angels, Inc., a new 16 bed home has been established that will provide transitional shelter and life-saving services to young people, aged 18-25. Additionally, because of the City of Vista’s commitment to purchasing this cost-effective permanent asset that can be used indefinitely to help youth, and for selecting a best-in-class service provider in Urban Street Angels, the Lucky Duck Foundation is pleased to award a “Shamrock” to the City of Vista and its Mayor John Franklin 🍀 This effort can and should be replicated and we encourage other cities throughout the region to emulate this model. https://lnkd.in/gdTmrPQr

Yesterday we celebrated the grand opening of VisTAY House in partnership with the City of Vista and the Lucky Duck Foundation! 🎉 This marks the first transitional housing program for youth experiencing homelessness in Vista—and our very first North County facility. VisTAY will provide safe housing, meals, wraparound case management, peer support, and career pathways through our trade school program. We’re so grateful for the outpouring of love from the Vista community and for all the incredible partners who helped make this dream a reality. Here’s to brighter futures ahead! 💙And a special thank you for all the help and support: Dr. Bronner's Prebys Foundation The Home Depot Heavy Breathing Foundation Retread Housing & many more!

THANK YOU, The Home Depot! 🧡👷 Nearly 50 volunteers from eight different local stores spent the day helping us get our new VisTAY House ready to open. Everything looks amazing and we’re so grateful for all the hard work and heart you put into this project! Because of your support, our youth will be moving into a beautiful place they can now call home 🫶 #urbanstreetangels #sandiegononprofit #endyouthhomelessness #youthhousing #newprogram #communitylove #homedepot #grateful #vistacalifornia #sandiego

Honored to have been chosen for this initiative!
We're building San Diego’s future by investing in the people who will shape it. San Diego is facing a growing youth unemployment crisis. Federal cuts to workforce programs are contributing to this crisis by leaving young adults without the support they need. Our Youth Workforce: Career Pathways initiative is a $6 million grant program that will support 17 San Diego nonprofits offering paid internships, hands-on training, and mentorships that connect young people 18-26 to careers in high-growth industries like healthcare, tech, environmental science, and the arts. This initiative creates equitable opportunities by focusing on youth facing the steepest barriers to employment. On International Youth Day, we honor and uplift the work of these nonprofits, giving young people the tools, support, and opportunities they need to build a more stable and meaningful future.
