  • Clinical trials are vital when it comes to finding the safest, most effective treatment for cancer. They can also have a huge impact on patients' quality of life. The video below does a great job of highlighting the importance of clinical trials and what they can mean for the patients who participate. We're proud of the work Virginia Cancer Specialists, P.C. is doing, and we're grateful to have them as a provider in The Network! #ClinicalTrials #CancerCare #CancerResearch

  • At The Network, we relentlessly drive forward public policy that helps protect community oncology care and allow it to thrive. Recently, our Public Policy team joined Texas Oncology at the Texas State Capitol for meetings with legislators to discuss how to make cancer care more affordable, accessible, and patient-centered. We focused on: ✅ Facilitating patient choice and access to safe care by addressing prior authorizations, step therapy, and patient steerage ✅ Expanding access to telemedicine, cancer screenings, and genetic counseling ✅ Supporting initiatives that enhance quality of life and the emotional impacts of cancer This event also gave us the opportunity to honor Debra Patt, MD PhD MBA, Medical Director of Public Policy at The Network, with the inaugural Physician Advocacy Champion Award—recognizing her outstanding commitment to engaging policymakers on behalf of community oncology. Thank you to everyone who participated! Read more about our Advocacy Day here: https://lnkd.in/gAFcMvzB #CommunityOncology #PatientAdvocacy #OncologyPolicy

  • Progress in lung cancer research isn’t just happening in large academic centers. It’s happening in the communities where patients live and where physicians in The Network care for them every day.   In recognition of World Lung Cancer Day earlier this month, we’re proud to spotlight Dr. Bo Wang, a lung cancer leader within The Network and Sarah Cannon Research Institute. In this post, Dr. Wang reflects on the latest advances in treatment and the power of bringing trials closer to home. His perspective underscores why access to innovation matters and is a reminder of how community-based research is reshaping the future of lung cancer care.

On World Lung Cancer Day, I’m reflecting on the personal stories that impacted my lifelong dedication to medicine and the science that’s shaping the future of oncology.   Today, I’m proud to be part of a national network advancing what’s possible in lung cancer care and expanding access to community-based clinical trials that bring innovative therapies closer to home. In this article, I share personal reflections, recent progress in the field, and what gives me hope about the future of lung cancer research and care.   #WorldLungCancerDay #LungCancer #CancerResearch #SCRI #WVCI

  • At BLUE RIDGE CANCER CARE, we saw it firsthand: ingenuity, persistence, and empathy in action. As part of the Community Oncology IRL series hosted by Acquis Consulting Group, our COO, Meagan Sampogna, PhD, MBA, RHIA, joined a powerful ethnographic experience that went beyond data to understand how care is truly delivered in our communities.   “Our teams provide far more than high-quality oncology care," Meagan said. "In rural communities, they are dismantling barriers that extend well beyond medicine — assisting patients with food, clothing, childcare, transportation, and even ensuring their pets are cared for during hospitalization.   "This redefines the essence of community oncology. It is not solely about treatment; it is about meeting individuals where they are, creating the conditions necessary for healing to begin.”   This wasn’t just a visit. It was immersion — a chance to listen, learn, and let real stories shape how we think about the future of cancer care. We’re grateful to the teams at BRCC for opening their doors and their stories to help us see care through their eyes. #PatientCenteredCare #CommunityOncology

  • We’re excited to share that several physicians and other staff from Millennium Physicians Association—a group of 16 sites and 11 dedicated physicians—have joined Texas Oncology, strengthening our collective ability to empower high-quality, compassionate cancer care across Texas. This meaningful expansion reflects The Network’s commitment to supporting practices as they grow to meet the needs of their communities. We’re proud to celebrate this milestone with Texas Oncology and welcome these physicians into our network.

  • Every two minutes, someone is diagnosed with lung cancer. That makes early detection and research more important than ever. Today, on World Lung Cancer Day, we focus on raising awareness, fostering hope, and pushing for progress in the fight against lung cancer. We're proud to help practices in The Network access the cutting-edge research that's changing the landscape of cancer care. JP's story is a great example of this. Over ten years ago, JP began treatment for stage IV non-small cell lung cancer with OHC - Oncology Hematology Care. He enrolled in one of the earliest clinical trials for immunotherapy, offered through the Sarah Cannon Research Institute (SCRI). Thanks to that trial, JP's cancer is now in remission. “Today, JP is not just a survivor; he’s a beacon of hope," says David Waterhouse, MD, MPH, Director, Early Phase Clinical Trials at SCRI at OHC. "As a volunteer in the clinic, he inspires others with his story, his smile, and his unwavering positivity—showing how clinical research can transform lives." This World Lung Cancer Day, we celebrate patients like JP and the dedicated providers who are using innovative research to bring hope to those living with lung cancer.
