For many, its 𝑒𝑛𝑣𝑖𝑟𝑜𝑛𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑎𝑙 𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑡𝑎𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛, 𝑙𝑎𝑛𝑑𝑓𝑖𝑙𝑙𝑠 𝑓𝑖𝑙𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑢𝑝, 𝑓𝑜𝑢𝑙 𝑠𝑚𝑒𝑙𝑙𝑠, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑐𝑙𝑖𝑚𝑎𝑡𝑒 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑠.
For me? It represents a unique opportunity for positive change.

Beyond the definitions, it’s this:

𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬: organic waste accounts for three-quarters of our global waste stream, and when left unmanaged, it produces major climate impacts, especially methane, a greenhouse gas much more potent than carbon dioxide. Food loss and waste alone are responsible for 8–10% of global greenhouse gas emissions, almost five times the emissions from the entire aviation sector.
But what if, instead of worrying about the negatives, we focus on the power of action?
As a leader in organic farming with my students, we live this daily.
