📆 The open call of I3-4-BIOFERTILIZERS will open on September 1st 2025! I3-4-BIOFERTILIZERS project focus on boosting cooperation between different European regions to promote bio-fertilizers and a circular bioeconomy. It aims to close the gap between more and less developed regions and encourage sustainable agriculture across Europe. 🟢 As part of the project, a call for projects will be launched on September 1st to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the biofertilizer sector to enable diversification of products and services promoting the deployment of innovations on the market. 🔬Boosting Seed Vigour Using Azotobacter 🚀 During my recent laboratory practicals, I successfully isolated Azotobacter from a soil sample and observed its impact on seed germination. Seeds treated with Azotobacter showed a dramatic increase in seed vigour, with seedlings displaying nearly double the length compared to untreated controls Why is this important? Azotobacter is a free-living nitrogen-fixing bacterium that enriches the soil and boosts plant growth naturally. Its application not only improves seed germination rates but also supports sustainable agriculture by reducing dependency on chemical fertilizers.
