🗓️ Microsoft 365 Roadmap - Copilot in SharePoint is starting to shape. After the SharePoint Agents, Microsoft is rolling a new AI features based on the Microsoft 365 Copilot license in SharePoint Online. After the AI Section was created by AI on the SharePoint pages, AI Actions will be rolled out to SharePoint Document Libraries. 🔹Description We’re expanding AI capabilities to SharePoint document libraries in Microsoft 365 on the web. AI file actions—already available in OneDrive—will now be accessible in SharePoint, enabling users to summarize content, compare files, generate FAQs, ask questions, and create audio overviews directly from document libraries. AI file actions will be available to all users with a Copilot license in SharePoint document libraries on the web. These actions mirror those currently available in OneDrive and offer enhanced productivity by enabling users to interact with files using natural language prompts. This feature is on by default and does not require admin configuration. Sections with AI works by first looking at the context of your page to offer prompt suggestions for what content you need next to offer a starting point. Once you click generate, Sections with AI then leverages your sources, the knowledge and content already inside of your organization, and the content already on your page to create rich sections that go beyond just image and text. This could mean including information from meeting transcripts, recent documents, or any other knowledge Copilot has access to. Toggle between options in the header and choose your favorite! 🔹Release stages: Rolling out 🔹 References Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 1141949 Roadmap ID 488297 🔻 To stay updated with the latest developments in Microsoft 365, subscribe to the M365 & Copilot Weekly Digest: https://lnkd.in/duw7YwiM #sharepoint #copilot #microsoft365 #office365 #microsoft365copilot #copilotinsharepoint

🎯 **Trusted AI isn’t a buzzword—it’s the difference between an agent people try once and one they rely on daily.** 🧠 Today’s skill to level up in **Copilot Studio**: **Describe your knowledge like a contract.** --- 🔍 Vague grounding → vague answers ✅ Clear knowledge descriptions + reusable tools → faster, safer outcomes --- ### 📜 Knowledge as a Contract (The Underrated Pattern) Most drift happens when we throw broad sources at an agent and hope retrieval sorts it out. In **Copilot Studio**, the short description you add when connecting a source (SharePoint, OneDrive, website) guides generative orchestration—what to use, when to defer, and how to respond. Treat that description like a mini-contract: 🔧 Element 📝 Example Purpose “Use for HR leave policies; prefer policy PDFs over emails.” Scope “Only 2024 docs; exclude archived blogs.” Priority “Use SharePoint site first; fall back to website only if not found.” Boundaries “If legal terms are ambiguous, hand off to a human.” Format “Return short answer + 2–3 citations.” --- ### 🛠 Pair with Shared Tools Centralize prompts, flows, connectors, REST APIs—then add them to agents from one place (Tools page). ✅ Reduces duplication ✅ Simplifies governance ✅ Ensures consistent behavior across agents --- ### 🔐 Publish with Authentication Answers inherit each user’s permissions—critical when knowledge sources include confidential SharePoint content. 🧪 Test in a demo site before broad rollout. --- ### ✅ Quick-Win Checklist (This Week) - ✍️ Tighten descriptions for each knowledge source (purpose, scope, priority, boundaries). Two crisp sentences per source is enough. - 📁 Use SharePoint sites/lists as primary knowledge. Keep website sources narrow (avoid whole intranets). - 🧩 Centralize actions on the Tools page (e.g., `AnswerWithCitations`, `CreateCase`, `SummarizeAttachment`). - 🔐 Publish with Microsoft authentication; smoke-test in a demo channel/site first. --- ### 🚫 Common Pitfalls - ❌ No auth on a pilot channel → accidental exposure - ❌ Over-broad website sources → noisy retrieval & slower answers - ❌ Tool sprawl → inconsistent behavior --- ### 📚 Read More (Official Docs) 🔗 https://lnkd.in/guXDp9FW --- 💡 **Question for you:** If you rewrote just one knowledge description today, which source would unlock the most clarity for your users? #CopilotStudio #AIAgents #KnowledgeManagement #EnterpriseAI #AIGovernance #PowerPlatform #TrustedAI #5MinADayAI ---

Imagine this: instead of jumping between apps or tabs, you can now launch AI agents directly inside SharePoint — in a sleek sidebar experience. No distractions, no context-switching. 💡 🔥 Why This Matters: ✅ Zero Workflow Disruption – Agents open in a sidebar, no navigation lost ✅ Flexible Placement – Drop links anywhere on your page 🌍 ✅ Smart Discovery – Now under the new “AI” toolbox category ✅ Scalable Design – Choose small, medium, or large link styles with titles 🔧 From a Developer’s Perspective: This unlocks huge potential for… ⚡ Workflow Automation – Context-aware agents tailored to your content 🎯 Better User Experience – No more bouncing between tools 🚀 Scalable AI Solutions – Especially powerful for SMBs 📌 Key Details You Should Know: 💳 Requires Microsoft 365 Copilot license or PAYG setup 📵 Not (yet) supported on mobile or email 🌍 Rolling out worldwide mid–late August 2025 This isn’t just another webpart — it’s a step toward the AI-first SharePoint experience we’ve been waiting for. For years, organizations have invested heavily in knowledge management - yet most employees still say: “𝘐 𝘤𝘢𝘯’𝘵 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘐 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥.” Microsoft's latest update might finally bridge that gap - You can now 𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦 𝐂𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐝𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐏𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐬. What does that mean in real life? Instead of digging through pages of content, your SharePoint site can now have its own smart assistant, trained on your org’s knowledge, ready to answer questions, surface insights, and guide people right where they work. This shifts the model from: 📂 “𝑺𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒄𝒉” ➝ 🤖 “𝑨𝒔𝒌 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒓𝒆𝒄𝒆𝒊𝒗𝒆” Here’s why I think this is a huge step forward: ✅ Faster answers - No more switching apps or searching endlessly. ✅ Built-in security - The agent respects SharePoint permissions and M365 compliance. ✅ Low-code friendly - You can build and publish these agents from Copilot Studio without heavy dev work. For anyone building intranets or knowledge hubs, this shift enables SharePoint to transition from being just a content repository to becoming an interactive knowledge hub powered by AI.
