Starting September 1st, 2025, OE Classic will no longer support Windows 2000. This decision comes 25 years after the release of Windows 2000 and 15 years after Microsoft officially discontinued it. This change has been a long time coming and should not be surprising. The compatibility layer that allowed OE Classic to run on Windows 2000 will no longer be maintained, allowing us to focus on more relevant features. Usage statistics show that only a handful of users are still on Windows 2000 (possibly even bots), and we have received very few support inquiries about it. In fact, the compatibility layer has been broken for several versions without most users noticing it. For this reason, we believe it's the right time to officially end support. Support for Windows XP (including XP 64-bit) and all newer versions of Windows will continue. Windows Backup for Organizations just showed up in Intune! During the Out of Box Experience, there’s now a shiny Windows Backup restore page (when enabled) that promises to bring your old PC back to life. Sounds great… but once you peel back the layers, it’s mostly about settings, some Store app magic, and a lot of expectations that don’t quite match reality. Windows 11 25H2: A Small Update with No Real Surprises Windows 11 version 25H2 is a minor update, scheduled for release around late September or October. Microsoft is preparing ISO installation media, though they’ve been slightly delayed. For users already on 24H2, the update is tiny. It installs through an enablement package that flips hidden features on with a single restart. These features were already shipped in earlier cumulative updates but kept disabled. 25H2 doesn’t introduce anything exclusive. The refreshed Start menu and new battery icons will also reach 24H2. Power efficiency tweaks are the same story. In short, 25H2 just bundles what 24H2 will eventually get anyway.
