We recently shared an article by our founder, Jeffrey Martin, a pioneer in 360° and gigapixel photography, exploring Gaussian Splats, the tech redefining 3D visualization: https://hubs.li/Q03G89lr0 Now, let’s take it from theory to practice with this stunning visualization by Ilia Shipachev! 🎥 How do you like it? Would you swap traditional photogrammetry or meshes for splats? #3DVisualization #DigitalTwins #GaussianSplats #MobileMapping #RealityCapture

AI, virtual staging, 3D tours, they’re all tools. But none of them matter if the core photos don’t capture attention. Start with the foundation: great photography. 👉 https://lnkd.in/eKEgBP9Z

With the new X2D II 100C, long exposure photography enters a new era. Featuring advanced 5-axis, 10-stop in-body image stabilisation, the system enables photographers to shoot handheld exposures of up to 10 seconds while maintaining razor-sharp clarity. This breakthrough removes the traditional reliance on tripods, making it possible to capture flowing traffic, city lights in motion, or the stillness of lakes and night skies with freedom and precision. By combining medium format resolution with Hasselblad’s renowned colour science, every frame balances motion and silence in timeless detail. The result is not only technical excellence but also a new level of creative possibility for professionals who seek both flexibility and fidelity in challenging shooting conditions. 📸 IG: elegy_chen, X2D II 100C & XCD 20–35E #Hasselblad #X2DII #X2D2 #mediumformatcamera #100Megapixels #HasselbladNewCamera #Photography

MIT took high-speed photography to a place I never imagined. This camera can reveal how light travels through a scene, creating shadows and reflections in real time. The numbers still don't feel real: if you filmed a bullet going through an apple at this speed, the playback would take an entire year! It’s wild to think about the hidden details this kind of tech can uncover.

The line between capture and creation is blurring. 📸 Generative AI tools are becoming a new lens for photographers, allowing for incredible creative possibilities right in the editing room. From seamlessly extending a landscape to reimagining a portrait with a completely new style, AI is a powerful tool in the artist's toolkit. But this new technology also brings up some big questions. What is "authentic" photography anymore? What about the artists whose work was used to train the models? The conversation is just getting started, and it’s one that’s shaping the future of art. Are you a fan of AI-assisted photos, or do you prefer to keep it purely behind the camera? Launched in 1996, Eastman Kodak Company Advanced Photo System cameras were primarily aimed at the amateur market, with a focus on automation and ease of use offering features such as automatic film loading and the ability to store camera settings on the film. It failed by not offering the control and features desired by professional photographers, the rise of digital photography, and the smaller negative size resulted in lower image quality and resolution. Launched in 2011 and discontinued in 2018, Lytro pioneered light field camera technology. Lytro's primary innovation was the ability to refocus images after they were taken, but this feature didn't resonate with a broad audience. Lytro targeted the "prosumer" photography market, but their products didn't offer the image quality or features that professionals demanded, nor did they appeal to casual photographers especially at its $1600 price point.

Most of my photogrammetric and 3DGS projects have concentrated on outdoor scenes. When I tried indoor scenes with uneven or odd lighting many of my early projects failed either in the reconstruction or postshot training stage (poor quality output). Capturing 360 video accentuates these issues since the camera looks in all directions and lighting conditions vary across each frame. My skills and stamina for photo editing were short so I decided to learn more about this aspect of the workflow. Luckily, the LinkedIn network has many extremely competent leaders in this space and none more so than Barry Bassnett owner of RichPix. Barry has a ton of experience in photogrammetry and photography and runs workshops to help others up their skills. I attended his latest workshop that specifically dealt with 360 camera workflows and the potential use of this imagery for inspection. The workshop was excellent and well worth the price. Barry is well versed in all aspects of camera work and has been tasked with some very special projects over the years due to his expertise. His eye for quality photo output and how to get it out of your capture was clearly explained and he also stresses the importance of cataloging and tagging photos for #findability. Bottom line, this workshop and any chance you get to learn from someone as experienced as Barry is worth your time and money. Check out his LinkedIn posts "100 photogrammetry tips" for quick useful items but better yet support him by taking one of his workshops. #richpix #photogrammetry #photography #360cameras #spatialphotography #findability #realitycapture Check out the RichPix site at: https://lnkd.in/eAeYvYSM

"Anyone who's telling you that AI isn't that good is probably selling something else. But anyone who tells you it's perfect is also probably selling something." The real truth about AI in real estate photography? It's complicated. Even if AI nails 32 out of 35 photos perfectly, those 3 failed shots might be the kitchen and master bathroom - the ones that matter most.
