We often talk about Smarter Cocoa, but what does this actually mean in practice? 🤔 Launched in 2021, the Smarter Cocoa Charter is ECOM’s company-wide cocoa sustainability strategy, built on 17 time-bound targets across our sustainability pillars to strengthen resilient and responsible supply chains. By 2024, after three years of implementation, we completed several KPIs and gained valuable learnings. Building on this foundation, we set new mid-term KPIs to address evolving farmer, community, and industry needs. The Smarter Cocoa Charter, like our sustainability approach, continues to evolve. We are proud of the progress we’ve made so far, but we aim to go further, recognizing that achieving a truly sustainable cocoa sector at scale is a long road ahead. 🌱 Have a look at our new KPIs below 👇 the full list can be found on page 13 of our 2024 Cocoa Sustainability Report! https://lnkd.in/gg5fVEnx #smartercocoa #smarterfutureforcocoa #sustainablecocoa #cocoasustainabilityreport #growinginnovators

When we set out on our environmental sustainability journey, supported by Beyondly, one of our early aims was to understand how much it costs in carbon terms to manufacture products here at Silvery Tweed. Well, now we know. Every tonne of product manufactured in our factory generates 40kg of carbon. In sustainability speak, that’s 0.04 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO2e). Being a responsible supply partner is important to us, and carbon reduction has a key role to play in our business – now and in the future. You can read about our carbon reduction journey so far and download a copy of our first ever sustainability report on the website via the link below. And look out for the results of our carbon reduction efforts over the last 12 months, coming soon! https://lnkd.in/ebg6z66n #NetZeroJourney #CarbonReduction #FoodIngredients #FoodIngredientSupplier #Sustainability

♻ Circular Economy Workshop – Circular Recovery Systems ♻ On 6th of August, the SACC Sustainability Committee brought together industry leaders, government stakeholders and innovators in Melbourne to explore how we can accelerate Australia’s transition from a linear “take, make, dispose” model to a truly circular economy. From panel discussions to an interactive workshop, the event examined: ✅ Designing out waste and emissions across the value chain ✅ The need for lifecycle thinking – from packaging to product end-of-life ✅ Overcoming infrastructure, regulatory, and behavioural barriers ✅ The importance of collaboration across industries and communities ✅ Practical solutions – from anaerobic digestion to AI-powered waste collection networks 🚩 Key message: Achieving circularity is not just about recycling – it’s about redesigning systems, fostering partnerships, driving behaviour change, and ensuring that innovation is supported by infrastructure, regulation, and shared responsibility. A big thank you to our expert panellists and workshop participants for sharing insights and contributing to a lively, solutions-focused discussion. Special thanks also goes to our event sponsor Tetra Pak and event host International Chamber House Melbourne. 📢 Let’s move beyond conversations and take action toward scalable circular solutions!
