A family farm in Belgium produces 31,000 meat pigs annually and manufactures 10,000 tons of animal feed for its own use.   • Challenge :

For farms with large-scale solar installations, like this Belgian farm, maximizing the use of self-generated solar energy is key to reducing energy costs and improving sustainability. However, in reality, solar production often doesn’t align with actual energy demand. Peak generation typically occurs during midday, while farm operations and equipment may require more power in the early morning or evening.

Without a storage solution, much of the excess solar energy is fed back into the grid at low compensation rates, resulting in lost value.

To fully unlock the value of its solar installation and cut down energy costs, the farm adopted an intelligent energy storage solution.
