Celebrating the Pillars of Vibha’s Boston Action Center

At Vibha, volunteers are not just part of the team—they are its heartbeat. They bring their time, energy, and unwavering passion to build brighter futures for children, often taking on challenges that go unnoticed. This spirit was on full display at the Vibha Boston Action Center, where a small yet mighty team of volunteers turned the 7th Annual Kite Flying Festival (KFF) into a resounding success.

Organizing a large-scale event with limited resources is never easy. It demands resilience, creativity, and above all, heart. Our Boston volunteers stood as the true pillars of KFF 2025, transforming what seemed impossible into a joyful, seamless experience that inspired the community and raised critical funds for children’s education.

Two volunteers, in particular, stood out this year:

Sandhya Lohitakshan – Event Lead Extraordinaire

As the lead for this year’s KFF, Sandhya Lohi stepped into her first major leadership role and absolutely soared. Her passion, ownership, and attention to detail shaped every facet of the event. From leading vendor communications to organizing logistics meetings and tracking countless moving parts, Sandhya managed it all with grace and focus. Her calm presence and ability to unite people were key to overcoming every challenge. Thanks to Sandhya’s leadership, both our kites and our mission took flight.

Brijesh Dave – The Steady Hand Behind the Scenes

A huge shoutout to Brijesh Dave - Ph.D. for being the steady force that kept everything running smoothly. Whether it was contributing thoughtful ideas or managing last-minute DJ changes and logistics, or physically helping with setup, Brijesh was everywhere we needed him. His ability to remain composed in high-pressure moments and his ever-positive attitude provided the team with a much-needed foundation. Brijesh brought calm to the chaos, and we’re deeply grateful for his role in making this event a true success.

We’re incredibly lucky to have Sandhya, Brijesh, and so many others who bring their whole hearts to Vibha’s mission. Because of volunteers like them, Vibha is able to make a real difference in the lives of underprivileged children, empowering them with access to quality education and a chance at a brighter future.
