27 March marks Saudi Arabia’s annual Saudi Green Initiative Day (SGI) Day. It is a moment to come together to unite people, public institutions and the private sector to combat climate change and cultivate environmental stewardship across the Kingdom.

During Ramadan, our interactive sustainability mosaic captured the Kingdom's commitment to environmental action. Citizens continue to contribute their eco-friendly practices to our interactive digital collage—a powerful visual metaphor for how our individual efforts create tremendous impact together.


Namour's 30 Green Deeds Challenge

Throughout the Holy Month, from classrooms to communities, Namour has inspired the Kingdom with the '30 Deeds in 30 Days' challenge. Saudis are enthusiastically embracing the opportunity to document their environmental commitments throughout Ramadan.

SGI continues to drive the Kingdom's steadfast dedication to achieving its environmental objectives while also improving quality of life for all citizens.

Speaking to Arab News, HRH Ambassador Reema Bandar Al-Saud highlighted Saudi Arabia's progress towards a sustainable future through its presidency of the 16th session of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification where over $12B was pledged to combat drought and restore degraded landscapes, as well as the Kingdom's environmental action initiatives resulting in:

⚡️ 6.6GW of renewable energy has been connected to the Kingdom’s grid

🌳 115M trees and shrubs have been planted and 118K hectares of land rehabilitated

🐆 7.5K+ endangered animals have been rewilded in Saudi Arabia’s growing nature reserves
