Saudi Arabia's Circular Carbon Economy Framework sets a global standard for emissions reduction through the 4Rs—reduce, reuse, recycle, and remove—aiming for net-zero by 2060. Key goals include restoring 1 billion hectares of degraded land by 2040 and achieving 50% renewable energy in its energy mix. Initiatives like NEOM 's zero-carbon infrastructure and KAUST (King Abdullah University of Science and Technology) 's research in carbon capture and sustainable fuels support these efforts.

Dugong conservation takes center stage during Saudi Environment Week, with the National Center for Wildlife المركز الوطني لتنمية الحياة الفطرية (NCW) highlighting the species’ importance to the marine ecosystem and its status as a symbol for conservation. 🤝 IUCN Promotes Andalusia and Saudi Arabia Protected Areas Exchanges

A Saudi delegation from the هيئة تطوير محمية الملك عبدالعزيز الملكية participated in a technical exchange in Andalusia, Spain, organized by the International Union for Conservation of Nature ( IUCN ). The visit covered governance, planning, and conservation best practices for protected areas and highlights efforts to foster international collaboration and establish effective, sustainable management in the Kingdom in line with global standards.
