Etihad Airways Named Five-Star Global Airline by APEX for 2026

Etihad Airways has once again secured its place among the world’s leading carriers, earning the coveted Five-Star Global Airline rating from the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) for 2026.

The announcement was made earlier this month at the APEX/IFSA Awards Ceremony in Long Beach, California, where passenger experience leaders from across the aviation industry gathered to celebrate innovation and service excellence.

Recognition Direct from Passengers

The APEX Five-Star rating is one of the most respected accolades in commercial aviation, as it is based entirely on passenger feedback. Nearly one million flights across 600 airlines worldwide were rated by travellers on a five-star scale, with the results verified by an independent external auditor.

Etihad’s achievement reflects its ability to maintain a consistently high standard of service across all cabins—from The Residence, the airline’s unique three-room suite in the sky, through to its First, Business, and Economy offerings.

Focus on Innovation and Guest Experience

Arik De , Etihad’s Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, welcomed the recognition, highlighting:

Etihad has recently taken delivery of its new Airbus A321LR, marking a step change for single-aisle operations. Configured with:

  • Exclusive First Suites with sliding doors for privacy
  • All window-facing lie-flat Business seats
  • Next-generation Economy cabin with 4K seatback touchscreens

The aircraft also offers high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity, ensuring guests remain connected in the air while enjoying Etihad’s award-winning entertainment and service.
