Finnair Receives APEX Five-Star Global Airline Rating for 2026
Finnair has once again been recognized among the world’s top carriers, securing the prestigious Five-Star Global Airline rating from the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) for 2026. The rating is based entirely on verified passenger reviews, collected from over one million flights across nearly 600 airlines worldwide.
This marks the fourth consecutive year that Finnair has achieved the Five-Star status, reaffirming its consistent focus on quality and reliability.
Customer Experience at the Core
Eerika Enne, Finnair’s Head of Inflight Customer Experience, emphasized the importance of the award:

The airline’s strong operational reliability—recorded at 99.3% in August 2025—is one of the cornerstones of its success. Finnair’s efforts span the entire travel journey, from intuitive digital channels and responsive customer care to cabin comfort and design.
Investments in the Passenger Journey
In recent years, Finnair has invested heavily in enhancing its offering:
Long-haul fleet upgrades: All long-haul aircraft now feature renewed cabins with modern design and improved passenger comfort.
Airport lounges: A new, larger lounge has been opened on the Schengen side of Helsinki Airport, offering more space and improved services.
Regional fleet renewal: Work is ongoing to modernize the cabins of the airline’s Embraer aircraft.
