How This One Habit is Changing the Way I Work and Think
Over the weekend, I had this constant thought about how the universe works in funny ways.
Happy TOT Monday!
New Week. New Challenges. New Chaos. And possibly a New Coping Mechanism.
Over the weekend, I had this constant thought about how the universe works in funny ways. First, it offers a man something just to see what he does with it. If he gives it back, it gives him more. If he clings to it, it takes it away. This thought came to me in different contexts and I'd love to hear your perspective on it.
But now, back to why we’re here! Here’s one thing I’m doing, one thing I’m learning and one thing I think you should try.
One Thing I’m Doing
Creating things I believe are meaningful.
I’ve realized that creating doesn’t always bring applause we sometimes seek. But it does force me to think deeply, push boundaries and stay focused. It kind of gives me that sense of identity and purpose as a creator.
Right now, I’m working on designing a simple Instagram feature to help reduce mindless scrolling—something I struggle with. This idea came to me when I opened IG to share something on my business page, only to find myself scrolling endlessly for nearly three hours. That left me feeling unproductive and I realized it was one of the reasons I stopped sharing my growth process on my Instagram personal page.
At some point, I even uninstalled Instagram because of how distracting it was. So yes, I strongly believe that a feature like this—though simple—could help creatives like me stay in control of their social media experience while still sharing their journey. So what do you think, is this a solution you would like to see too?
Also over time, I’ve also come to realize that I don’t just want to be a spectator—watching people I admire create and build amazing things. I want to create and build great things, too.
One Thing I’m Learning
The easy path isn’t always the right one.
In my journey as a designer and creator, I’m still learning that true growth comes from embracing discomfort.
Imagine working on a creative project. It’s tempting to stick with what you already know because it’s safe. But taking the easy route might mean missing out on new ideas that could push your work to another level. It’s like choosing a straight path through a park—you’ll get to your destination faster but you’ll miss all the hidden, beautiful spots along the way.
It's worth noting that not all discomfort is the same, though.
There’s the kind that holds you back—trapping you in negativity and making you feel stuck.
And then there’s the discomfort that helps you grow—the kind that challenges you, builds new skills and pushes you to become a better version of yourself.
Another aspect i am learning about is the trap of luxury. Not just in the sense of expensive things, but anything that makes life too comfortable for you. I have come to understand that when you rely too much on comfort, even small setbacks can start to feel overwhelming.
In summary, this just means choosing challenges over shortcuts—even when I don’t want to. There are so many things I know are necessary, yet I avoid them in search of an easier way. But real growth lies in discomfort. That’s where resilience, innovation and success that i truly seek come from.
One Thing You Should Try This Week
Do one simple thing that pushes you out of your comfort zone.
For me, that would be attempting to start either an early morning or late evening jogging routine. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do but kept putting off.
Now it’s your turn!
One thing you’re doing
One thing you’re learning
One thing you think I should try
I’d love to hear from you—drop a message and I’ll read them all!
If this resonated with you, like this post, drop a comment, share with a friend and let's grow together!
Here's to breaking comfort zones and building something meaningful - one step at a time. See you next week!

5moInsightful! Can't wait to see what the feature you're working on, I believe it'll be helpful for a lot of people like me. Sometimes I would want to just do something on my Instagram and minutes later realized I've actually not done what I came to the app to do. Great job you're doing!👍
