Why is hiring process so difficult now?

I will be honest and very transparent.

  • I used clear single column ATS friendly resume.
  • I post on LinkedIn my knowledge and experience 3–4 times per week.
  • I increased my connections up to 500+
  • I spent 1 hour to apply job at least 10–15 applications every day.
  • I spent at least 2 hours for keeping my knowledge fresh on personal projects.
  • I built my personal website — portfolio.

It took me 90+ days

So after 90 days what happened ? Let me tell you.

  • Around 1200 job applications :(
  • Spent 3 months hard working
  • Got only 34 phone calls
  • Got only 4 technical interviews

Get hired finally thank GOD !

→ I did not do those mistakes.

  • No fake resume
  • No inconsistency apply
  • No hopeless
  • No irrelevant skills added on my resume
  • No fake experience
  • So I push myself and whatever I can do.

→ But now the time is very hard to get hired to be honest. Here is why ?

  • To much competition.
  • Less open positions
  • Less hiring budget

→ What can you do in that tough job market?

1- Take very extensive job search strategies

  • Tailoring your resume and cover letter for each job application
  • Reach out to your professional network (Use your networking smartly)
  • Reach out local recruiting agencies since almost all company becoming on-site and hybrid
  • Act fast and apply within a day of the job’s posting date

2 - Fine-tune your LinkedIn profile and stay active on social media (Be visible and active on LinkedIn)

3- Stay positive and persistent. Remember, every ‘no’ brings you closer to a ‘yes.’ Each rejection gets you one step closer to an offer.

Here some great insight from Andrew Seaman and Farah Sharghi .

→ My final thought could be for you.

Do whatever you can and spend your time on learning new skills especially AI related, be visible as much as possible, use your network efficiently and leave it rest of to God.
