This lecture discusses the history of personal computers from the 1970s to present day. It describes early systems like the Altair 8800, Apple I, and IBM PC. The Internet boom of the 1990s is also summarized, driven by advancing technology, Microsoft Windows, web browsers, and commercialization of the Internet. Early electronic medical records from the 1960s-1990s are also briefly outlined. The lecture concludes by noting how computing continues to develop rapidly with mobile devices, voice recognition, motion interfaces, and flexible displays.
