This document describes a proposed method for real-time fatigue analysis of drivers through iris recognition. The method uses a camera interfaced with an ARM processor to capture images of the driver's eyes. It analyzes the iris area to determine if the eyes are open or closed. If the eyes are closed continuously for four seconds, it issues a warning signal. The proposed iris recognition method is found to be more accurate than existing methods like eye blinking sensors for detecting driver fatigue, with an accuracy of about 80%. It provides a less complicated way to detect fatigue compared to other physiological measurement-based methods.
