- 2. Panel 1 - font ideas I have been going through a few ideas for my font for panel 1, below are some of the ideas and fonts I have experimented with. Below is the CDs title in the font ‘Jenna Sue’. I’m pleasured with the look, however I’m unsure about the placement. Because I have a lot going on in this panel its hard to decide where I should put the titles. Using the same font as seen to the left I changed the placement to space out the look more and made it not look so congested. After doing so I feel that the font and look makes the cover look a bit unprofessional and childish. Since the other font wasn’t so successful I attempted with a new approach and look in mind. Below is a change of font and placement, making the overall look a lot more simple and subtle. I liked this a lot, however there was question about how illegible the titles were.
- 3. Below is one my ideas of the layout for panels 1 and 4. I like the look of this as a whole, but am still working on possible fonts. The font used on panel 4 and ‘Natasha North’ on panel 1 is ‘Lora’. ‘Gather & Run’ on panel 1 is in the font ‘Mathilde’. I think all the fonts work, however panel 1 will need further adjustments in terms of font. ‘Gather & Run’ on that panel is rather small and could be hard to read, but I do like the simple and concise look it gives overall. - 4. I felt the look of the panels together looked a little messy, because of this I adjusted panel 1 to match the white bars seen on panel 4. I think this looks a lot better and more neat in terms of presentation. Because of this change a move and replacement of the titles were needed, this lead to the new bottom and top placement of the titles on panel 1. I like this as it means non of the picture is covered and because the titles are on a white background it is easy to read and see. Panel 4 Panel 1
- 5. Panel 4 This image itself could use a few more touch ups, including a blue tint over the sea. But font wise I tried to keep it simple. Below is the same font of the cover, keeping the font consistent which I think is very important. It is also simple and legible. Above however is a change in font to ‘Carbon Type’. I like the fun style of this, however it
- 6. Panels 2 and 3 After experimenting and deciding on having the image of me with cracked glass overtop, I decided for panel 3 it would be very effective if I could recreate the same image but of Meg. From the image of me, I took a picture of Meg in the same position. I then removed the background to have just Meg’s face present in the image. I then added the image of me over top and rubbed out my face so that Meg could have the same pebble background. I then did some touch ups to make it look like Meg was in the same location as the background and as realistic as possible, after this I then drew on the crack to make it seem as though Meg’s image had been cracked, like the one of me.
- 7. This is the image I ended up with, both looking very alike in terms of position and location. I placed Meg and I back to back. However I felt this looked too messy and congested in the middle of the case. Because of this I changed us to be looking at one another, which in itself I thought was very affective. Panels 2 and 3
- 8. After completing the image of Meg I put the two together, but because I had to copy the background of my image on Meg’s there was a black shoulder and coat in the side of the image, this didn’t look very good. So I went back to both images and got rid of the coats in the way, I did this through smoothing and copying other areas of pebbles on top. This made the image look a lot more realistic and smooth.
- 9. The panels were coming together nicely and looked rather smooth and professional, however one thing that stuck out to me was the cracks. To help improve the look I got rid of the individual cracks on each image and instead drew a crack over the whole image of the girls together. This was effective as it makes it look like one large image together, and the crack could represent the braking of their bond and relationship.
