Google Chrome

On the address bar, enter

Then press ENTER key on your
keyboard

How to create a new
account in buffer?

To register your account, click
Get Started for Free button

This tutorial is intended for newbies

That’s why you are to register for the
free account

However, BUFFER offers various
packages you can choose from

To continue, you can register via
Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn or Email

Let’s register via
Email

Enter your Email Address

Enter your Password

Click Create Account button

You are redirected to Buffer’s
dashboard

Verify your email account first
Open a new tab

Go to your email account
(in this tutorial I used Gmail)

Open the email sent by Buffer

Click Verify! Button

You are redirected to Buffer’s
Connect a Social Network webpage

Hooray!!!
Your account is now created!

How to connect your
Social Media
Accounts to BUFFER?

For this tutorial, let’s connect your
twitter and facebook accounts

Click Connect button under twitter

Then authorize buffer.
Enter your email and password

Click Authorize app button

You are redirected to Buffer
dashboard with your Twitter connected

To connect your facebook account,
click Accounts link

For facebook, you can connect a
Profile, Page or Group

Click Profile button to connect your
personal account

Then log into your facebook account.
Enter your email and password

Click Log In button

Click Continue as <Name> button

Click OK button

You are redirected to Buffer
dashboard with your Facebook connected

Cheers!!!
Your social media accounts are now
connected!

Let’s now explore
BUFFER dashboard!

1. SCHEDULE

Since buffer involves planning your
social media posts

setting your correct time and
schedule is very important

On the dashboard, click Schedule tab

Each connected account has specific
schedule, like Facebook profile

To adjust your Schedule Timezone,
click on the search box

Type and select the city you want to
set your timezone to

To apply the selected timezone to all
accounts or profile

Click Change all 2 profiles and
pages to this timezone? link

The time is now set to the local time
of the selected city

You can also select the specific
day or days

you want Buffer to post in your
social media account

Just select or deselect the specific
day
Selected days

Deselected days

You can set as well the specific
posting time

for each of your social media posts

Just click on Add Posting Time button

Select the specific hour

Select the specific minutes

and select the specific period

Deleting of posting time is also
allowable, just click the X icon

Once done, your Schedule tab will
look like this for each account

Another way to create schedule is
allowing Buffer to create optimal
schedule

Click Try our Optimal Timing Tool link

Select the account you want to create
schedule for

Select the Number of times to post
each day

Click Calculate times button

This is your optimal schedule

To apply it, click Replace Existing
Schedule button

Your facebook schedule is now
updated with the optimal schedule

2. CONTENT

This is where you manage
your posts

On the dashboard, click Content tab

Select one of your connected social
media accounts like Twitter

Then select which platform the post is
to be shared

For your first post, select both twitter
and facebook

Enter your tweet or message on the
provided space

Click the drop down arrow to choose
when to share the post

Selecting Share Next is the same with
Add to Queue button

Where the post is automatically
scheduled based on the SCHEDULE
tab

Selecting Share Now immediately
posts in real-time

Selecting Schedule Post allows you to
create ad hoc schedule

And manually select the
date / hour / minute / period

For your first post using buffer, click
Add to Queue button

Voila! You have Buffered your first
post! Click Great, Got It!

It’s now arranged to be posted based
on the scheduled time

Open your social media accounts to
check

if the post is shared after the set
schedule

Tweet is successfully shared in
twitter!

Post is successfully shared in
Facebook!

Let’s add photo in your post.
Click Add a photo or video button

Select the photo you want to share
from your computer

Click Open button

Select the platform where the post is
to be shared

Enter your message

Click Add to Queue button

The photo post is now arranged to be
posted based on schedule

You can rearrange posts by
simply dragging it up or down

Select and hold the post then drag it
up or down

The post is being dragged up

Posts are rearranged after dragging
before after

To further manage your scheduled
posts, click the following links

to delete / edit / move to top /
share now your specified post

Clicking Delete link

A confirmation message appears
to confirm click Delete button

Clicking Edit link

A pop-up message appears
you can change the message

you can change the date

you can change the time

you can Add a photo or video

Clicking Move To Top link

Instantly moves the post to the top

Clicking Share Now link

A confirmation message appears
to instantly share click Share button

There are two ways to view the
scheduled posts in buffer

One is in List view

Another is in Calendar view
Since your account is free

You have to activate the trial version
to see the calendar

To do that, click Calendar

Click Start a 7-day trial button

Click I’m good, take me to my Queue!
button

These are your scheduled posts in
weekly Calendar view

These are your scheduled posts in
monthly Calendar view

3. ANALYTICS

This is where you can check the
performance of your posts

On the dashboard, click Analytics tab

Click your facebook account

Analytics tracks the number of
comments/likes each post gets

Click your twitter account

Analytics tracks the number of
retweets/likes/mentions each tweet gets

And we are done!

You’ve acquired the basic things you
