- 5. In every area of our practice we applied Faye Abdellah Theoretical Assertions. We may not notice or we are not aware of it; but it is existing and relevant to our practice till now. We care for our patient using a problem-centered approach with the use of evidence-based nursing practice and skills; which is a result of studies and research. Some studies claim that pre-operative hair removal is harmful to the skin of the patient and it will cause surgical site infections, and should be avoided. The author found no statistically significant effect on surgical site infection rate but if it is necessary to remove hair, the existing evidence suggests that clippers are associated with fewer surgical site infections than razors.
