Borobudur temple is located in Magelang, Central Java, Indonesia. It was built in the ninth century under the Sailendra dynasty as a Hindu-Buddhist temple. Borobudur consists of eight stepped terraces constructed from stone. The first five terraces are square with Buddhist sculptures and the upper three are circular, each topped with a stupa. The temple is 46 meters high and has a large central stupa at the top, surrounded by walkways and staircases covering 4.8 kilometers to the summit.
