By Chloe Chorlton
 We decided to create our titles for the teaser trailer using Adobe
Flash. This is because we have used this programme before and so we
knew what we were able to do.
 Trying to keep to the same font ‘Assassins’ I tried to add text boxes
using this style. However the font would not work properly on this
programme as we had downloaded it. Therefore we needed to think
of a way to add the text in.
 Adobe flash allows you to import images and so I decided to use this
to add the text. The image shows how I did this.
 On Microsoft Word, I made text boxes and put each letter that was
needed for the title in them. Then I changed the sizes of font as they
were very big and would not fit on the
Flash background. This was very time
consuming as after altering all the
letters, I then had to save each letter
as a JPEG file to be able to be imported
to Adobe Flash.
 Next I imported the images onto the
library of Adobe Flash. I did this
instead of straight onto the stage as I
had ideas to have each letter come in
one at a time.
 To be able to make that work, I needed
to create a layer for each letter. This
1
is done by pressing F5 on each of the letter names (1). This creates a
platform that allows media to be added to that layer.
 The blocks are counted in 5’s and so we had to drag the boxes to 150.
The numbers do not represent the time so the animation was only 6
seconds long.
 We then had to take the correct letter and put it onto the correct lettered
stage name. The image shows that the black box at the beginning of the
animation for each letter (2). This is when the image is shown. I then
staggered each letter so that they randomly appeared.
2
 I used the same technique to
create the coming soon
animation and the billing
block.
 Although I did not do this
with individual letters as both
the coming soon sign and
billing block have to be quick
flashes.
 After we had finished making
the titles on Adobe Flash, we
had to export the file. This then
ensured that we would be able
to insert it into Final Cut Pro.
 As we exported the file, it was
saved as a QuickTime Movie.
 This image shows the titles animation being inserted and edited onto
the trailer.
 The file was imported onto Final Cut Pro and dragged into place.
Initially we didn’t include the billing block but after seeing it on other
trailers, we decided to create one. This meant that we had to use the
blade tool to cut the original title in half to add the billing block.
