Using Premiere Pro CC
To create my trailer I used Adobe Premiere Pro CC. This allowed me to create a
professional and conventional horror trailer. It has many features to allow me
to create an effective trailer.
Importing files and editing:
< When you import any type of file into premiere pro
it appears in the small section on the left. To insert
the file you drag it across and into the timeline on
premier pro.
< To edit you go to the effects section on the left. To
use and effect you simpler drag and place it on the
footage/ sound within the timeline you want to add
the effect to.
Using premiere pro it allowed me to included
conventional horror transitions such as ‘Fade
to black’ I have used these throughout my
trailer.

It has also allowed me to edit my footage. As my images were
quite dark I needed to lighten them. Using the Brightness and
contrast effect from the visual effects section on premier I was
able to brighten the image.
Adding titles:
As a convention of form, titles are needed to create a professional and
conventional trailer. Premiere has its own option for titles. You create the title
and drag it into the time line on top of the footage/ space you want it to be.
I downloaded my fonts from Dafont.com, once uploaded onto the computer
these fonts can be used in premier pro.

Adding sound:
I downloaded my sound from royalty free websites/youtube. I used an online
converter to change them into MP3 format and imported them into my trailer.
I have cut the sound using the red cutting tool to fit in with the footage seen. I
have also used audio transitions such as exponential fade which are available
in premier pro.
Editing scenes together:
As it is a horror trailer I have used fast paced cuts to create suspension and
mystery. To do this on premier pro I cut up scenes so they are short and placed
them together. Some scenes overlap to create quick jump cuts. Premiere has
also allowed me to speed up clips, by right clicking on a piece of footage and
then changing the duration.
