This document presents a median-based parallel steering kernel regression technique for image reconstruction that overcomes the computational intensity and spurious edges issues of the original steering kernel regression method. The proposed algorithm utilizes GPUs and multi-core processing to significantly enhance computational efficiency and image quality, achieving speedups of 21x on GPUs and 6x on multi-cores. Results show that the median-based approach yields better outcomes than traditional methods, with improved root mean square error metrics in comparative tests.
