Freeze Frames
I learnt how to add freeze frames into my film opening, this helped
because we wanted to freeze the characters and add in their real
names but have the film carry on without any cuts or jumps. This is
where learning about the freeze frames helped as we could easily
freeze one section of our film and have it carry on straight after
without a jump.
Audio
I learnt how to use audio and how to cut it
to make it quieter in some scenes and also
how to fade it in and out. I also learnt how
to add in sounds to my film opening, such
as the narrative, as we had to time that
correctly so it went in the right place.
Adjustments
I learnt how to use the adjustments properly when creating my film
opening as we had to edit the audio, clip and video. We had to
slightly speed some clips up because they were going to slowly or it
made the clip look faster and therefor fitted more with the genre.
We also had to make some lighting adjustments in the corridor
scenes as they were very dark and you could hardly make out what
was happening.
I also learnt how to adjust the colours in the
scene. This was helpful as it allowed us to
change the freeze frames to black and white.
Volume
I learnt by adjusting the volume in some clips
you can’t hear the background noise and it
also makes the song fit better with the
opening as there are less noises and you can
focus more on the film rather than random
noises of people passing, thinking it was
meant to be in the film opening. This helped
a lot as we were using out college and there
were still people about so we had to mute
them out.
By using transitions it helped show that a scene had changed.
Before I made this film opening I thought using transitions made films or videos look un professional,
but I have learnt that if you use them properly and not a lot then they can be quite effective and
nobody really notices.
