Advent Reflection
When I realized I had George for the prayer I was happy I had him, because before he leaves
for Christmas break I wanted him to give him a prayer that will touch his heart and show him
grateful I am for him. It did take me a while to write George’s prayer because I did not know
him fully, but I would observe him at lunch. I did not exactly how to start the prayer but after
the first three lines I rolled along, each sentence got more meaningful and gracious. I was happy
to do this project and also for getting George so I can tell him how I feel and put a smile on his
face before we all leave. At the end of writing George’s prayer I loved every line I wrote, and I
am sure he did also.
I was nervous to give George his prayer but I was confident he would love it. As I gave George
his prayer with a huge smile I was hoping he would love it as much as I did. As Andrew gave me
my prayer another great smile came upon my face and I was happy Andrew had got me. His
prayer was so meaningful and warm felt and I couldn’t ask for me a better prayer. I never knew
Andrew looked at me as a strong and happy person, and I was grateful to hear that. The most
striking part of having the prayer written for me was reading it. I was beyond curious who had
me and what the person would say about me. The striking part was opening it up and reading
what Andrew had said, his kind words. Telling me things about myself that I didn’t know, but
they were great words.
I donated my do good dollars to the Salvation Army that ring their bells joyously. I wanted to
donate to the Salvation Army because they help with a ton of people with their outstanding
services. Services like: adult rehabilitation, veteran affairs services, prison miniseries, elderly
services, combating human trafficking, and missing people. It was a good way to donate my five
dollars, because with five dollars a lot can be done. I was happy when I put my money in the
envelope because I knew over vacation my classmates and I would be doing something good
with our money. It made me feel like a better person, for doing a good deed and I would do it
again.
