  • #3: The answer is today businesses can no longer implement point cloud solutions Businesses can no longer just implement cloud point solutions to remain competitive in rapidly changing industries that are being disrupted every day. They need a solution that doesn’t just support HR – but helps HR reinvent and reimagine how to make the most of their workforce. They need to manage their data across locations in a very secure and compliant way, they need to integrate with other systems whether its SAP or 3rd party HR applications, and they need to be able to extend their solutions to meet the need for unique, differentiated business processes. Integrations: Our comprehensive integration approach covers packaged integration content (more on that on the next slide), integration tools and technology, and an extensive API catalog. Extensions can be done in two ways: The Metadata Framework (MDF) lets you expand delivered functionality without the need to code (e.g. create new fields, build new processes). New applications that integrate with SAP SuccessFactors can be built with the SAP HANA Cloud Platform.
  • #4: By 2016 – 75% of new enterprise spend will be spent on cloud and hybrid systems. Companies are moving to the cloud because they are being expected to do more with less. With cloud – companies can focus less on legacy of maintenance systems, and more time on driving innovation. The SaaS delivery model allows business to shift their capital expenditures from large up-front costs to agile operating budgets. And finally, the cloud enables companies to use previously silo’ed data across different lines of businesses and geographies to improve business processes and deliver competitive advantages.
  • #5: Technology has changed the way that people work and how businesses operate. In a survey conducted by SAP and the There are various stakeholders involved in HR’s transition to the cloud – all with their own questions and concerns when it comes to implementing a new technology and new business process. HR – making the business case, how this technology works with existing compliance with local countries. Executive sponsor – what’s the ROI? How does this affect our differentiating business processes? IT – has a lot of going on as from what we saw on our previous slide. But cloud enables them to act more as angel and series A investors, they’re able to quickly see what technologies work and what technologies don’t for their organization. How do we find the right balance when talking to them in providing access to innovation while also ensuring that our customers data is secure and integrate with other technologies? The big question is how do we approach and satisfy all of these specific stakeholders.
  • #6: There’s no question, within the next 5 years HR will be in the cloud. Today, about ½ of HCM systems are already in the cloud, and many of SAP’s customers are evaluating on-premise investments. 7/10 HCM deals today are in the cloud as HR professionals have become more saavy with
  • #7: In 2015, HCM for cloud reached a tipping point. For the first time ever, there are more cloud HR systems than on-premise. According to a survey conducted by Sierra-Cedar, 58% of all HCM deployments today are now cloud. However, there’s still additional value HR can bring to the table with technology: There’s still room for HR to engage with their employees. Many HR processes are still administrative and time consuming, with employees and managers and employees left guessing how to complete back-office processes the right way. In August 2015, SAP SuccessFactors introduced Intelligent Services, a brand new set of capabilities in the SAP SuccessFactors HCM suite designed to help HR reduce their time spent on administrative tasks, and focus on business results. Only 5% of CEOs rated their organizations performance as excellent – there’s clearly room for HR to improve, and at SAP SuccessFactors we believe that technology is the enabler.
  • #8: Today, many cloud initiatives rely on point-to-point integrations to link applications and systems. But this is not a reliable strategy, it becomes even more costly and impractical to manage when your organization has to manage multiple systems, whether they are cloud or on-premise. As companies seek to incorporate unstructured data into their strategic capabilities, the integration of many desparate systems becomes even more difficult. Businesses need a vendor that can support them in lowering their cost of integration.
  • #9: Businesses need a HR technology solution that issecure, easy to integrate, and easy to extend – enabling HR to make the most of their existing investments to deliver value to the business.
  • #10: The biggest concern for CIOs in moving to the cloud is data privacy and security. In a 2014 survey conducted by BT for companies moving to the cloud, over 70% IT professionals cited security as the main concern. This number has actually increased by 12% since the last study in Security at the Operational level - What unique value proposition does SuccessFactors provide the customer in respect to safeguarding their data? Security at the Application level - What security measures are built into our software to protect the cusotmers data? Siemens wanted to roll out role based permissions within SuccessFactors across multiple data centers. Security at the Physical level - How do we maintain 99.6% uptime? Security across the Network - How do we protect how data is transmitted, and the identity of our users?
  • #11: Any HR software provider can build integrations to SAP as a one-off project. But integrations cost money not only to build but also to maintain. Since they carry an inherent risk of failure because of software updates, customers have to invest time, money and highly skilled experts to monitor them periodically. Moreover, integrations, in many cases, require changes to the systems on either side. To address such challenges, SAP builds and maintains productized integrations for the entire life of the software. Since SAP controls both SuccessFactors HCM and SAP ERP software irrespective of where the software is delivered from, the productized integrations built by SAP are simpler to implement, are less likely to break during software updates and less expensive to maintain. In the event of disruption or failure of a productized integration, SAP takes on the responsibility of addressing the problems. SAP’s investment in integration will save customers about 80 percent of the cost of building and maintaining integrations compared to custom building them.

  • #13: Why does our cloud technology matter? It reinvents the way that our customers work and enables HR to be a strategic part of the business. Our technology facilitates collaboration – enabling customers to work from any device. Not only that, business leaders are increasingly expecting information from IT through self-service tools in the future. Currently only 15% of executives surveyed in SAP’s Knowledge@Wharton study on the Future of Work have access to self-service tools. However, in the next 3-years, 46% of the same business leaders are expecting access to information through self-service tools. Cloud is changing our business processes and the way that we work, across departments, companies and industries. Cloud provides faster access to innovation – SuccessFactors manages our technology updates on a quarterly basis. We update 4x/year. Rather than having the demand for innovation We provide new insights for how our companies should be running their business. Companies can measure their employee performance, goals in ways like never before to improve their business processes. We’ve made data more available across the enterprise in what was previously siloed. However, we also help our customers reinvent the way that they work. With our technology, customers can Empower their employees to work from anywhere – from their desktop to their mobile device – improving employee collaboration across geographies, functions, and roles.
